JFK Half Dollar Roll Hunters: Silver, Proofs And Other Finds

When the banks run out of half dollars they order them from their Federal Reserve bank. When the Fed runs out, they order them from the Mint. The Kennedy half dollar was only de facto NIFC because the Fed had quit ordering them.

I do not think the half dollars minted for bags & rolls get the same special treatment as those in the uncirculated Mint sets. I believe they come from the circulating production runs so they do not have to forecast what is needed for consumer sales versus what is needed for potential Fed orders.

no luck on all those halves? New 22's?

Cracked another 4 boxes all skunked for silver, did pull 31 nice NIFC. From 2002 to 2019. Thank you GSR12010, for the 2022P half dollar rolls.Check is in the Mail you should have gotten an email from Stamps.com with a tracking number.

So last week, 10 boxes, ALL 2022's, I'm thinking my roll hunting days are done and I have visions of a pallet stamped Philadelphia mint with hundreds of 2022 boxes at the armored company warehouse. I go back this week, SAME two banks, same two armored carriers, ZERO 2022 boxes!! Better than that, I ended up with (27) 40% silvers and (5) 64's 90% AND 7 clad proofs and an 87-D NIFC!!! Also found a roll hunting bucket list find, a 40% S mint proof, a 1968-S with some circulation. So my worst hunt was followed by one of my best. Crazy!! 17 of the silver 40%ers were in one box with all but one of the proofs I found.
