Reminder that each 40% half has as much silver as two 90% dimes.

So this week cracked 4 boxes and 2 contained silver. Pulled 4-90%ers and 1-40%er. 1-51D Bennie, and 3-64's, plus 1-69. Sorry for the 57 Quarter being there. Stuck it in with my silver finds for the week.

Nice finds, arby96! I'm happy to see the '57 Quarter, actually as I noticed it missing from your quarter post.

John, yea I forgot to put it in the quarter photograph. So I thought I would share it in the half silver.

Hi Everyone -
I've recently returned from vacation in the Upper Midwest (Minnesota, North Dakota, Iowa) and as I have always done, I did a bit of CRH, focusing on halves. I wanted to ask the group about something I encountered there to see what your experiences were. As I have always done, I focused on areas with lots of older people - my route took me through isolated areas along US 2, bypassing Minneapolis and going through Duluth MN, Fargo ND and eastern Iowa. No one had anything except for some Fed rolls and one search dump in rural MN ($1.1K).
I was told by a local that "people don't have a history of saving silver, and those that do keep it in the family." I never heard that before - I always found something, especially in rural areas like those in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic. If anyone has had any experience CRH in these areas, I'd like to hear about it to see if it's "normal" in the Upper Midwest.
Thanks.

Arby, your finds are starting to look your old days of half hunting. Good for you! You have to like 4 - 90%-ers including a Ben!!

Calzone, great point on the conversion factor 40% to 90%! Bottom line, they sure look like silver and have silver value

GSR, yes I have had a couple of good weeks CRH halves. I hope the silver keeps flowing. I am glad I started up again. I am only searching 6 boxes a week, before I was searching 10-14 boxes a week. Its always nice to score more 90's than 40's for sure.

Nice finds, cabowabo... A week a half ago, April 5th, I went to several banks asking for halves... one bank had 4 rolls and two loose coins, another had 7 rolls. I took all of them... the group of 4 rolls and two loose coins had nothing... However, when I got home and weighed the other seven rolls, I noticed that three rolls weighed a good bit more than the standard 225 or so grams. Two weighed over 226 grams, the other was just under 225.7 grams (not pictured). Sure enough, the two 226+ gram rolls each yielded 3 40% halves... And the other roll... only 1 silver coin, but it was a 1941-S Walker!
