Todays halves haul, sitting on top of the worst String cents box I have ever opened. One Wheat cent, one 2000 Wide AM, and a dozen or so canuck pennies. Plenty of copper cents which I will save in case the mint ever relaxes the "no melt" ban.

Halves...one 65, one 66, loads of 67s, several 68-d and 69-d, one 2001-s and one 2005-d. Plus the peso...

21 - 40% coins makes an ok day. Still waiting for that 90% to show up...have yet to see one since I started searching rolls again...

happy hunting! - 50c

1- 1972 P DDO-001:
*This is now the second one of these I've found in the last month!
Shows real nice notchings.

Has some problem areas etc on it, like my first one, so this will be soaking in acetone for a while also.

Hello All:

Did another box, and only found one 40%--a 68D--but did find two 1991-Ps that were prooflife. Anyone know anything about this, i.e., was it a new die or something? I know that new dies can look prooflife, take for example the 1878-S Morgans. But I have never seen this in Kennedys. When I first saw them, in fact, I was sure they WERE proofs but then I realized that only San Fran did proofs then.

I had several rolls of 1989 p and d coins that looked prooflike too......no idea what was up with that , but they were nice coins with strong strikes. I sent 2 of them to pcgs and they came back 64 and 65 (not bad for somethnig found in a roll)

That chinese coin has real nice detail on the wall design

Update on the Chinese coin.

It's a 1 Yuan from the People's Republic of China and worth around $2.00 US in uncirculated condition.

*2 more boxes to go today*

*SDcoinguy:

Price wise on the 1972DDO- its worth around $15.00 to $20.00 in that condition according to Bill "Found in Rolls".

If it were in real nice shape, its worth even more than the more popular 1974D DDO according to Bill.

Probably around $60.00 to $70.00 for it as opposed to around $40.00/$50.00 for the 74D

I take my time with each roll and look at every coin, so its no big deal to look for certain variety's/errors besides just going for the "SILVER"!

Thanks 50cent. I'll try that before goo-gone. Since they are most likely out of an album, they are in really good shape - the front at least. I wonder if the glue is successfully removed, would they be grade-worthy... I probably won't get them graded, though, I just like having the bullion.

Try boiling the coin in water to get the glue off.

picked up 10 loose halves at the bank - one 40% (1967), nothing special in the rest.

I'll take it.

I went to my parents how today and when I got there I seen my dad was going thru a box of halves. I asked him if he was taking my idea and he said yeah. So I sat there for 10 mins watching him go thru these halves and not finding any silver. Then I couldent take it anymore. He was searching a box that I had turned in 2 Hrs prior
