went through 4 boxes
first 2 were from wacovia and had only 2 40% and a single 2004d defaced with marker
the second pair were much better and contained 35 40% and 2 90%

I mentioned in another forum about getting some halves from my bank with glue on the reverse - most likely from being removed from an album. I boiled them for a few mins and then turned the heat off and let them set for about an hour. HOLY MOLY did they come out nice.  The glue just pealed off and this is the result:   Notice where they are nicely toned where the glue WASN'T !  Serious question, would coins like these from albums be worth having graded? |

just sold my 19 half dollars. 18 %40's and 1 64. final sale was $45+ $5 shipping. not bed considering silver price went down....
nice boiling technique. I read up on removing adhesive from silver coins and acetone/nail polish remover worked well. but it looks like boiling works great too. it looks like you can still see remnants of the glue

went into chase today and got $100 of halves... skunked on every one of them. even had pervious roll hunters marsk on some of the coins! kinda rude if you ask me....so now what do I do knowing that I might be getting my halves at someone elses dump site?

Go back to the same bank. Ask for unmarked or unsearched rolls. I have only been to one bank this year; twice got good rolls and once skunk rolls. The skunk rolls were all marked.
I have asked for cents rolls at this same bank and explained I was searching them. The one teller asks another teller "Get him the old rolls customers bring in".

Went to four branches of my bank to dump coins - last one was the only one with any halves. One of the three they had was a 1951 Franklin! Despite being skunked on hundreds of dollars worth of rolls, my only two silver finds have been handed to me by tellers. Too funny.

when asking for a box of halves or nickles and cents - do they have to be ordered? and how many come in a box? nickles, dimes cents, etc... thanks

Halves usually have to be ordered. The others they may have a box to spare. 50 rolls to a box, so cents $25.00, nickels $100.00, dimes $250.00, quarters and halves $500.00.
