Quote: Rollhunter, you can't give up. You just need to rethink your strategy. It's pretty likely that if a bank is sitting on several hundreds of dollars in customer wrapped halves...that it is a dump bank. Quite often in that situation I'll grab 10 or so rolls, go out to my truck and check them before moving on to another bank. I know there are other roll searchers near me and pretty much learned where they dump at. I have gotten some silver from these dump banks...but sometimes you have to root through alot of clad to find it. One bank I frequent often and keep clear of halves all the sudden had $1400.00 worth. I bought $100.00 worth and was as I figured... a dump. The next week they only had $300.00 left because they shipped a bag out. I'll check them again next week and if they don't have a huge amount I'll probably take whats left and get that bank rid of crap and things may go back to normal. If not I'll give up on that bank for awhile. It's going to be a learning experience for awhile. You need to figure out your best coarse of action. Which banks and tellers are clueless to silver (I like this kind) and which banks get in halves often and which of those are dumps. The rules may change as you play this game...but it should payoff. Just keep at it and strategize. That is very good advice and it's qualified by experience. You can't beat that. Quote: Eddiespin.... That was so funny about the money laundering, your right, they have not a clue! We got 'em right where we want 'em. Sleepwalking.

The $200 that I went back for yesterday, no silver. A lot of very nice 70's and 80's again. However..... the extra $10 that they found in a corner supposedly in a different wrapper, 5 40%. Not bad. 3 boxes await me today for the weekend...

SDcoinguy - bank stockpiles are usually a sign someone is dumping. They will usually ship them out when they get a specific amount. I order a box a week and don't have the time to roll hunt for customer wrapped rolls unfortunately. You may get someones' dump, or you may get a nice old hoard deposited.

Quote: Did $1k bag of halves last Friday with the following results...
97 - 40%'s 13 - 90% Kens 2 - Walkers (43 & 43S) 3 - Bens (52D, 54, 61) 1 - Impaired clad proof (2005S) 5 - NIFC's (06, 07, (2)08, 09)
That is a phenomenally great bag! Perhaps if it would stop snowing for 2 seconds up here my bank would get their delivery and i'd have a bag to search.

SD Coinguy, yeah like Ratman said you can't give up and when I run into a bank with a large sum of customer rolls I take some and see. If there is silver I go back right away, if not I might go back there a little later in the week if I'm not finding anything else. Back in October I went to a Credit Union and they had about three hundred in customer rolls, my first 6 rolls were nothing but I bought more later anyway , I was new to this and I hit 9 rolls of pure 90%, Walkers Bens and 64's!. It just goes to show, ya never know Today I went to another town and got five rolls of halves and $10.00 of nickles that a lady had just brought in I got 1 64 2 67 and a true rotated 1995-d Jefferson! ( I can not find a seam anywhere and I don't think they do nickels like they "rotate" Kennedys I have 4 of them!) I think it is rotated 45 Degrees,The Monticello is vertical instead of horizontal when flipped. I will post pics... Good Day

Do you guys dump it back at the same or a different bank? Do the dump banks dislike getting that much coin back?
