Not intended for circulation. 2002-present halves weren't minted with intentions to release into the system.

Quote: Do you guys dump it back at the same or a different bank? Do the dump banks dislike getting that much coin back? I will not return the coin back to where it was purchased. However... I purchase my coin from the "main" bank where I have my accounts and will return the coin to branch locations. I have in the past shared with a head teller (at a different bank) of what I was doing, she said I could purchase what she had only if I returned what I didnt want back to them as they didnt want to buy more halves. No problem! They rerolled what was returned and will be calling me when their coind counter bag is full. That'll work!

Just finished a 1K bag.....totally skunked - not 1 coin worth keeping. Too bad I waited 2 weeks for it.
I did find out something today though - my CU gets their bags for me somehow through other branches of theirs. I have searched 4 bags from them and every time there are other denoms in the bag. Apparently the branches either turn the coins in to a central loc and they get disseminated from there or they fill my order with any bags that are avail from the other branches before ordering from an outside service. Bad news is, I could end up getting someone's dumps. Good news is, the coins are bagged at the machine when people dump them in to be counted, so it is possible to end up with a really great bag. I am going to try and order 2 bags next week.
Of course, if this luck continues I won't be getting any bags!

You don't search enough boxes. PS: Britain isn't spelled "Brittan." Look your coin up here: http://(131231) Not Allowed - Auto-Removed /

It is starting to look liek the halves are pretty well picked....seems to be drying up for a lot of us. Quote: - 4 More Boxes Left for the weekend - Pick up 10 more boxes on Tuesday and 10 more boxes on Thursday Coinmania, how do you go abt dumping? It must be a nightmare. I only get an avg of 1 bag/2 boxes a week and I have difficulty getting rid of them as I do not want to haul them all in to the bank every day of the week. Do you have several dump banks?

I asked him that, already. I guess it's a secret.

Better than yesterday!
90 %,
4: 3 1964 P and 1 1964D JFK
40%er's - 3
Total: 7.
* On the bright side, 1 of the 64P's and the 64D JFK are beautiful blast white, great luster.
They both might be MS 64+ to even 65's.
I'll post some pics of the pair later tonight.

i suscpected more would begin to dry up as well. I have called and stopped into about... 5 banks around town and no one has ANY halves. a few things I've noticed however is that at every bank, someone has just beat me to the punch. also, there seem to be at least SOME ikes. now I have been doing some research on ikes and I dont know if it is a good investment or not to look for them. I do know that many people have gotten lucky with morgans and Peace dollars. what do you guys think... will I have more luck finding silver in ikes or halves

I dump them at the same bank I get them up at. I get a box of $500 pull out the good ones and replace the good ones with some extra halves I have at home. I throw the $500 in halves in a bank bag and drop off the bank bag either for cash or I exchange the bag for another box. I usually do this twice a week and exchange $5000 in cash/bags of halves for more halves and only takes me around 10-15 min at the bank.

SDCoinguy: i think your answer depends on who is working at the bank...if you have younger tellers who don't care or have no idea what they have, you mght do pretty well with it. There are a few sharp tellers who pull the silver out, so it's hit and miss. I'm sure there are some 40% ikes out there, at least.
