Nice pull on the bag AG!
Box 1 down for the week, 2 more to go.
1 - 68 3 - 69 No NIFC or proof coins...
For whatever reason I will average about 2 silver per box. Not near what some of you guys pull...

Thanks, its been hit or miss big with these bags. The highlight was the 1970 S Proof (40%), which is a hard one to come by. I am thinking someone cut open a bunch of proof sets they "acquired" somehow and dumped them. There were 11 other proofs from almost every year during the late 70's to early 80's.

Nice score AG! 1970 is a hard coin to find.
I broke a milestone today. Got $140 worth of customer rolls and bingo, a 1964! No proofs, no NIFC and maybe six 40%. Not great but not bad as I have hit 30 plus banks recently and come up with one 40% and one 2005-D, plus two silver dimes...
So, first 90% since I started back roll hunting in Jan. of this year. My next milestone is a Ben/Walker.
Figuring out this roll hunting and making some connections with people at banks who are looking out for me. Once I can buy up to $1000 at a time, I will get a box or two just to try.

i feel a lot better when all you "hot shots" post your skunkings... makes us poor guys feel normal.. =D
hit my first box, in increments last week, scored 4 40%'s, 83 proof, 06, 05 NIFC... but every bank I go to has nthing.. actually they more and more people are asking for halves!~! insane. I havent hadf any luck with customer wrapped since my first day of hunting when I got $20 and got 15 out of 20 coins being 40's and 90's... ever since, that bank hasnt had any, nor do they order any... they other branch I've been hitting only gets dumps from people.. and the other branch I've been gracious enough to have the tellers buy the vauly box and sell them to me over the course of a couple days =D which seems to be the only way to get halves that arent dumps, and better than nothing at all...

I picked $40 today in those brown and white wrappers, it was mostly 1971, no silver.

Im not one of the "hotshots" but let me tell you what I have run up against these last two weeks in 30 plus trips. I get "No, we don't have any" "No, we don't order those" "What is that, the little dollars?" "We only sell to customers" "No, someone just bought ours" etc. I even almost bought my own dumps once, lol.
I bought $330 from a bank I do business with and didn't get one keeper in the bunch. A few days later I told the teller that I didnt find one good coin and she said "Sorry." On my way out the door, she shouted "I will look out for halfs and call you when some come in"
At another bank I got 8 rolls they had in the vault and 7 of those 8 had searcher marks on the wrapper. Yep, the other roll had a 2005-D and a 67. Oddly enough the good roll had balance figures all over it. Go figure lol.
Keep working at it SD, and you will pick up some tips to getting some good rolls. I am learning fast as I go.

box skunked. tried out TD banknorth for some zinc penny returns and asked if I could buy their bags of halves from the counter. they said no and then refrenced how its all computerized or something. whatever now I know where I will be dumping halves.
In the same day went on a road trip south out of Mass and into connecticut. got down there and found a TD banknorth which let me buy a bag of 763 dollars in halves. interesting that they would let me buy that but not at the one in my town. Only 2 in that entire bag worth keeping. the rest of the trip yielded about 8 silver pieces. all 40%.

The upside of everyone asking for halves is that my dump bank loves it when I bring more rolls in. lol.

Pick up 2 of 4 more boxes tomorrow.
We've been snowed in the past 2 days - terrible snow storm etc so I've been putzing around with the $50.00 bag of cents I purchased a few days ago in anticipatation of not being able to get my regular orders of boxes.
Hurry up tomorrow!

DOH! 2x this has happend. funny thing is I have never dumped at this bank.. so someone else is getting my dumps at another bank and then returning them to the other branch I go to to pick up.. WOW confusing.

Didn't manage to find any halves today but I did break a coin counter at my dump bank! Someone's rejects must have been stuck in the machine because I ended up 36 cents and one Canadian nickel ahead.

Two boxes last night, found two 40%. That's a 0.1% success rate. Today, I have to return 99.9% back. In anything else, at those rates, I'd have thrown in the towel a long time ago. But I can't, because something's wrong with me.
