1 2004 NIFC

4 40%

2 1967
Started off with 2 in my first roll thought I might have a great box - but only ended up with 4 40%

Very interesting box Eaglefoot. Since you don't normally sell, maybe hold on to those at least temporarily to determine how rare such a rind really will be. My guess is that someone cashed in a collection of coins they'd been buying from the mint, and you got the dump.

Yeah, eaglefoot, I agree w/afcop13...in fact, I'd just roll 'em up and tuck 'em away. As every one of these had to have been bought from the Mint at one point or another there might still be a market out there if we were to put together some decent BU rolls. I'm just sayin'...

Yeah.....thanks guys, I was kind of thinking that too.......and I did find some nice BU 2003's and 2002's.....and even some other older years that were just SOOOO BU that I had to set them aside.

As far as this being someone elses "dump".....you would think so, but this box was from the Fed Res. !! I don't know how I could get someone elses "dump" from there !

I coin tubed them for now.....about $33.00 worth that I'm keeping out of that box.....(never kept so many from a box in all my life !)

OK, been doin' some wonderin', again. Do the banks get charged a fee when they release their coin to the armored car companies? If they don't get charged on the way out, do they get charged on the way in, i.e., when they buy the coin from the armored car companies? Anybody know how that works?

I managed to get a box from my regular bank yesterday. Nothing spectacular, but I did get some silver. No NIFC

I've searched a lot of boxes, never seen a fed box. Do you mean from the mint? If they still have the mint wrapping, I don't think I would open the rolls, they will be more valuble that way.

eddiespin, most larger banks have contracts with the armoured car companies and coin services are usually covered under those contracts. Small banks generally dont have coin counting machines or large cash services contracts, so they may order coins on an as needed basis which costs them extra $$$.

How does one actually order a box of halves? Do you just go up to a teller or the bank manager and say I want to order a box? Do any of you get them from Bank of America?
