That's what'll happen sometimes. There could be any number of reasons for it. Just consider yourself lucky you got them for what you got them for, and move on. Once they're dug-in like that, fugettaboudit...

Same Here!

The Security Officer some how found out one of the branches was selling me bags from the machine and next thing I knew- CUT OFF!

NO more bags for sale!

I can still order boxes, no problem, but no more selling me any denomination of full bags :(

It was nice getting those $50.00 bags of cents!

Oh well, back to ordering "Bricks", but I still have connections with a few other banks that keep "Customer Wrapped rolls for me"! so I'm not too heartbroken about this.

chuckster, I'm suprised you were able to get away with that for so long. Valley National and TD both have policies against giving coin bags to customers, I've tried for years to get them to give me bags straight from the machines to no avail. Occasionally a friendly teller would let me fish a few out of bag, and I used to fish them out myself when I worked for td but I always had to do it clandestinely because I was going against company policy.

Yeah- banks are making it harder and harder for us "HALF NUTS" (in more way's than one, LOL! ) to make a little extra bucks on the side!

I agree, especially TD bank!

They have floor supervisors that watch you like a hawk and don't even think about trying to find out what's in the half bag when you fill it up!

They also ship/receive etc using Brinks and I think that's also why the boxes from TD Bank are terrible!

I have never find a darn thing of value anytime I get a Brink's box.

I really believe either the back-room people in TD Bank or Brinks personnel or both are going thru these bags pulling out Silver etc before re-wrapping/boxing etc. Paranoid? :(

i was watching a show on history channel I believe and it was about Brinks.

The workers are not allowd to bring money with them to work. they are searched when they get there and when they leave. it was a few years ago when I saw this so I could have some of it wrong but I think thats what I remember.

That's for workers coming in and out, but are they separating/pulling the Silver etc during their work shifts etc and not re-wrapping everything and if so, where is it going because it's not being re-circulated back into $500.00 boxes to the banks etc.

I admit I don't know how all of this works, but I do know any Brinks Boxes I have ever got have been a complete disaster!

Absolutely nothing!

Brinks boxes used to be a great silver source, until about 2 years ago when things really started to dry up. I fondly remember the days where I would get 30-40 40% silvers per box and almost always a few 90% silvers. Nowadays, I would love to get a box like that every few months, but this is rarely the case.

I went through two FED boxes on Sat and found ZERO! However, the previous two boxes last weekend yielded 4 40% and two JFK 90%. When I dropped them boxes off at another bank I asked the teller if she had any halves and she had 1 roll. I pulled 6 40% silvers out of the roll. Amazing, you can spend 1 hour going through 2 boxes or find one roll at a bank that will produce possibly the same or better results.

It seems as if once the thinking creeps up the chain-of-command so to speak from the friendly teller staffs to the big brains, that's when the trouble starts...
