I guess my phone call to the bank paid off, the manager handed me a $10 bill for the error!

Note to Self: Make more phone calls to my bank when they screw up my orders.

Man I don't know where this luck came from but I'm going to keep riding it until it runs out. This week has been my best week ever for half dollars. Let me break it down for you guys and share my finds.

Wednesday: (I previously posted this)
2 40%
17 franklins, 3 walkers (all in one roll)

Friday:
8 40%
2 90% 1964 kennedys

Today:
1 full roll of '67 40% kennedys
1 full roll of 68 D 40% kennedys
1 bicentennial clad proof from a teller tray

Total:
22 90%
50 40%
1 proof

All were from cwr's....I'm only 21 and I haven't been doing this for as long as most of you guys but I'd say it was a good week for me.

You ought to be ashamed of yourself!

Please take that as a compliment.

Last weeks finds...

4 - $500 boxes
1 - 90%, 2 - 40%

Better than nothing, still very slow on the silver front.

After an epic dry spell, I found 6 CWR this morning that yielded 2 x 1964 and 8 x 40%. It doesn't make up for the time in the wilderness, but it's a start.

No, on the whole, I have found box searching an absolute waste of time. I probably have averaged 1 or slightly less than one silver per box, usually a 40%. Occasionally, you will hear of someone finding an epic box, and maybe that's why people keep doing it, but that is very rare. Good luck with yours. Hope you find the big one.

My bank got the 4 boxes from the "glitch" last week. Tough sledding - 1 90% (64P) and 3 40%.

Regarding the discussion on boxes vs CWR's. I have had some good boxes, but they have fallen off lately. I find CWR's and loose half dollars hard to find in my area. My banks (multiple) tell me that at least 3-4 people come in looking for halves per week. In addition, almost all of the rolls I find are from roll hunters, and I find that many tellers keep the loose silver and search customer rolls to take silver out.

To give an example, last week I went into a bank and asked for halves. The teller smiled and said she had $120 worth. I bought $50 and asked if she had any loose. She stopped smiling, reached in her drawer under the counter(and kept all of the coins where I could not see them), and I could hear her dropping numerous silver coins in the tray. She then pulled out 12 halves and said "I have $6 worth". They were all clad. The $50 I bought were also all clad, and all 12 rolls appeared to have marks on them. I do not begrudge the teller, she is likely underpaid and in her position I too would keep the silver. But, it illustrates what I find in my area.

As the price of silver goes up, so goes the IQs of the tellers.
