Lincolncentguy,

Just logged back in after a weekend trip without internet (gasp), I laughed at your comment and when I saw my expert typing. Seriously, my flux capacitor was giving me fits, that why the small amount of future coins. I'll bring back the RedBook next time so my kids can have a financially secure future.

My bad luck with boxes continues. 4 boxes searched this weekend = 0 silver. That means that in my last 24 boxes (24,000 coins) I have found 1 silver half dollar (a Ben Franklin). No silver coins have been in my last 12+ boxes.

Given my experience until November, this seems statistically impossible. I think someone at the coin distribution company is pulling silver coins. Initially, I was finding a number of 40% coins and a few 90%'s mixed in. Then, I noticed that my boxes were being tampered with. They were often opened prior to me getting them and someone was opening rolls and taking coins out. That has now stopped, and the silver has completely dried up.

Last week, I did some bank searching with some success. Out of $300 in CWR's and loose I found 1 90% (51 Ben Franklin) and 9 40%'s. In addition, a bank had $370 worth of bank rolls (String and Son wrappers) and that produced 2 90%'s (57 Franklin, 64 Kennedy) and 2 40%'s.

So, for the week I found 3 90%'s and 11 40%'s. I can live with that each week. I also have a new bank ordering halves for me from a different coin company - a company that I have had good luck with in the past.

I think the only way to beat the game.
-------must find a way to dump far away
-------empty brinks [dream on]
-------I am running out of money!
-------take 20000.00 out of bank
kick its rear-end
I hate loosing!

bad beat 90, but you know you have to be punished for that outstanding find last week. it happens without fail to me. two weeks ago I got like a 1500 find and then I went through about 25 boxes and got like 2-3 40s.

today though, I did alright:

franklins: 15
64s: 20 or so
walkers: 8
40s: 60 or so
silver proofs (all 1990s): 5

not amazing but certainly nothing to scoff at eh?

lol obla. That is one amazing haul if you ask me. When you work a part time job near minimum wage as I do, a find like that is nothing short of amazing.

I drove by 3 banks the other day... one had nothing...next had 1 ike and 1 half...no silver...3rd bank said she had a few halves and started reading dates to me...no silver...usually I just buy them all to keep relationship with tellers smoother but didn't even need to buy these rejects...nice teller.

i go through about as many boxes as 90. I probably do 12 or so a week. prior to this find, I had two weeks of ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, so don't get too excited people. I mean, get excited, but it's not entirely luck, you see, when you go through so many.

Two box total for this week - Only 1 silver (1967), but I did land several NIFC's including a 2002P, 2003D, 2005D, 2006D and a real nice 2010D! Filled a couple holes in the Whitman so not all was lost.
