lol, although I do think there should be an off topic section in the forum, so we can hold such discussions. From some of the comments I've seen there is a wide spectrum of beliefs on here and I'm sure there would be some interesting discussions.

Makes me think of my aunt, having political discussions with her is unreal. So quick to fly off the handle and become nonsensical, no need to get so offended for opposing viewpoints.

I know what you mean 90, some of those gold coins I just drool over. If only I had an adequate enough income to justify those kind of purchases!

I paid $800 for my $50 buffalo back in 2006. I hated to pay the money! Now I wish I would have bought 100 of them!!

Got a box today and it was fun. Different things including a 1995 Atlanta Olympics Basketball Commemorative half, a gold plated counterstamped half (can someone please explain what and why on the gold plating?). Counterstamp was on obverse, it was the date 1960 on the left of JFK and 1985 on his right. Any theories on what that could mean? My first thought was like a funeral favor... if that is a real thing.

Also scored 6 %40ers.

Hondo, it was some gimmick back in the '80's to commemorate the 20th (and later, 25th anniversary) of Kennedy's election.

I think it has a lot to do with world stability - or instability as the case may be. With the value of the dollar decreasing, the value of precious metals rise.

I'm sure there are a TON of other factors, but a weak dollar makes for stronger prices for silver.

I took a look at the trading on currency and the chart for the USD was very interesting. It almost was exactly inverse to the kitco.com chart for silver today.

Opinion is mine only - your mileage may vary.
