Its not always about the money, the penny searchers get really excited when they find an Indian, and the dime searchers.. a merc... are they worth much... no.. but they are fun. I wont lie I get excited when I pull a dateless buffalo out of a roll... will it make me rich...no its not even worth $1, but was it worth it... absolutely!

In 1987, no half dollars were struck for circulation. These 1987 Kennedy's were only issued in sets I believe. Due to the fact that there were only 2.8 million minted, I find it extremely unusual that I would find three of them in a few hundred bucks of bank rolls. Whether or not they are worth anything is another issue.

I've searched halves for almost a year now and still have not come across a single 87 or 70. I will be thrilled when I finally do. Although I will probably just end up buying 2 sets and cracking em open for my AU/BU Ken folder. Doubt that when I do finally come across them they will be in album worthy shape.

I've never found a 1970D half, but have found about 5 87 P or D from roll searching.

Just picked up $20 and got 1 40% silver. Banks have really not had halves- I think too many people getting there before me! But I'm still scoring a pretty good % of silver.

Same here, I've only found 1- 1970d and I've being doing boxes close to 2 years and averaging 6 to 8 boxes weekly.

I have found around 6 or 7 1987P & D's.

One of my most favorite finds is a 1776-1976 S Bi-Cenntennial Half 40% Silver.

Very hard to tell how many of these are left, as a huge amount were melted in 1982.

From two different teller's trays today, I found five 40%'s-a 1966 and four 1967's. This is only the second 1966 I've ever found in circulation.

I would like to send a thank you to all who left the Canadian quarters in the coin machine tray at the bank coin counter. You made my day and when the U.S. Dollar collapses I will have plenty of Loonies! I LOVE half dollar hunting!!
