Hit what will likely be my "megabox" last week. 10 1964 and 8 1968D. By far the best for 90% and 40% I've ever gotten. I knew it was a good box when the first roll I grabbed had a 1964 on the end.

2 boxes searched today. 15 40%'s. Not too bad as boxes go these days. 2 more boxes are coming Thursday/Friday.

Quote: 18 rolls so far and NADA ! Wow, that many rolls and nothing! You're really unlucky! BTW, how long have you been searching for, a week and a half, two weeks?

First flat out refusal to take half dollars at a gas station today. Because in their own words 'the bank charges extra to take them back'. I figured they were making things up because it took them about half a minute while fingering the roll. Word to the wise don't get trapped somewhere with only halves to spend just in case.

You are right is only my 3rd week and $2500 ( 5x boxes) but I always got any rolls or loose coins I could before start with boxes , and yes it makes sad because is very hard to cash them back ! Why ? Had you been in a skunk streak before ? If , how long just so I ll not get surprised ?!

2001s were NIFC? I thought it was only 2002 and after?

In my Red Book it says 2001 P's were NIFC, and 2001 D's were intended. Kind of odd I thought.

1 box of halves, 2 boxes of quarters and 2 boxes of dimes the wife and I went through today. NOTHING. Not a single piece of silver in the entire 2 grand in coins.

2001p is considered by some as NIFC but I hear millions were dumped into circulation and I think my searches bear that out. I wouldn't classify any of the so called 2000 series NIFCs before 2003 as rare.

Ricardocody, 8-10 boxes, even more, isn't unusual. Just stick with it and go at your own pace, whatever your situation permits. The hardest thing is always the dumping. In time you'll figure out the routine that works for you. There's no magic formula. Good luck!

Several more boxes and nothing. I haven't found any silver halves in about 8 weeks, at least. I am really getting tired. I might have to give it up, I don't want to but I can't take the pain anymore.
