My bank said that they can't order "bags". Anyone else see this?

Box 4 Several NIFCs 1st commemorative 1986S? clad Ellis Island. I was excited until I found it was clad...then I was excited to a lesser extent until I found the mintage was like 25 million but I think that might be for nonS so I still might have a fairly rare coin. So interesting box except for the absolutely no silver part.
BoA suddenly decided the day I dumped it that they didn't want to have them rolled anymore so I spent 15-20mins in front of the other customers ripping off the wrappers and pouring them in the bag. Sure it was quite as scene and people were chuckling at what I was doing and the huge pile of paper growing on the counter probably embarrassing the bank but...well it wasn't my idea to make me do this.

That's a little excessive. Though it's annoying to pull a nice coin with a marker line on it, a quick acetone dip usually cleans it up. I mark coins too, but I try not to be a jerk about it and only mark coins that have prior marks on them or are already damaged in some way. I'm amazed at how many halves out there are holed, acid dipped, or sanded down.
I agree, marks help me in telling if a group has been gone over. As long as you stick with marking up old 71s and bicentennials I don't think anyone will miss them.

From my experiences, I've gotten several boxes that had a bunch of marked coins in it, and have still managed to pull silver out of those boxes, in one instance over 20 pieces. I don't think marking coins has any sort of relevance as most batches get mixed with other coin. Either your going to get lucky, or your not, no need to deface coins in the process. Although, in contradiction, I gotta agree with you, mark away at the 71s and 76s, nobody likes those.

Yes, the marked coins I have are all mixed in. They are not end of roll coins. I found 2 silver in each of the 3 boxes I've looke through.

I haven't seen a box with unmarked coins in at least 6 months. Still pull silver. I mark more for the interest of seeing how long it takes to cycle my coins back Found my first walker (in a moderately marked box) along with 5 40%. Add that to the '64 I found in the first box of the week and I'll say I had a nice week. Still need a barber for my circulation type set.

Searched final 2 boxes of my 4 for the week. Box 3 was a skunk. Box 4 had 4 90%s (40', 41' and 42' Walker and 64' Kennedy -all P). It also had 5 40%s. For the week, 4 90%'s and 20 40%s.

I gotta agree with JBuck on this one! As long as your doing this to expand your collection of coins and not just focusing on silver, you didn't get skunked. The 76 proof is still one that's managed to elude me.
