I'm in the east county area, El Cajon to be exact. I've been focusing on dimes though. more productive, even though they are less valuable.

Welcome to the forum Penman! Nice haul, but be careful, it becomes addictive.
Finished my 4 boxes. 5 90% (3 64' Kennedys and 2 61'D Franklins), the Saudi Riyal and 21 40%'s. An increasingly rare good week. Until next week, happy hunting guys.

penman 77 WTG on the 40%er's!! 8 box total yesterday: 6 1 @ 90%- a 58D Franklin and 5 @ 40%. Another low count on silver this week. * I did find this real nice doubled die obverse 1972P 1-DO-001 (CONECA). Beautiful split serifs on the letters " IN GOD WE TRUST "

murrellington, just wondering what banks you dump at. I'm in Mission Valley, but it would seem since you're not so far away we would be served by the same vaults.
I do dimes as well. =) You're right on the halves, it hasn't been producing.

I dump at Pacific Trust bank. One in el cajon and another in clairemont. they have coin counting machines. they are free for members so I joined :) those are the only places I dump. but I pick up all of my coins at any well's fargo I can. mostly the one by parkway plaza though.

Perfect, I dump at PT as well and pick up at WF. =) Maybe we'll see each other someday dumping halves at PT Clairemont!

SDcoinguy- do you sell on CL a lot? I see someone selling sets and the like in Oceanside almost daily.

wpd7: that's funny! looks like we got the same idea. do you only dump at the clairemont PT? How often do you dump, and how many coins at once.

I went to more banks again today, and got rolls of halves, rolls of dimes, and even nickel rolls. No silver, or even key dates. It's been like that for almost a week.
I ran some errands, then got home right before 5PM. I thought I could check one more bank before it closed, for the heck of it. I tried a bank close by that I'd never been to, and the teller had 6 or 7 loose halves. I told her I'd take them.
She laid them out on the counter, and that's when I heard a clink. Then, I saw the luster, toning, and even some tarnish. I had a '64 and a '68D!

Grabbed another box of halves while out looking for dimes today, it gave me absolutely Nada. I'm still searching for somewhere to buy bags.

murrellington- I dump about $1000-$1200 at a time. That way I can get at the internal reject chamber although it hasn't netted me anything but sticky pennies and linty buttons! About once every 10 days or so. I try to alternate between Clairemont and La Jolla.
I dump at SDCCU as well, but they require rolling. If I happen to score extra coins, I dump the rest at SDCCU so that it doesn't take up too much of PT Clairemont's time.
I exclusively dump my dimes rolled at SDCCU. Counting machines always seem to short me. Or at least it seems that way!

murrellington- BTW how's your averages with halves? Seem to be skunked a lot lately for me. Not having too much fun with NIFCs.
