Better week last week, but a lot of work. Out of 7 boxes and $130 loose halves I found 20 silver. 6 90%'s (1 51' and 5 64') and 14 40%'s. Through 5 boxes I had 5 silver, the last two boxes saved me. I also found 9 silver dimes (a whole lot of work - $1875 searched) and 117 wheats. This week I will not be able to do as much, and next week I will be able to do little, if any searching. Good luck everyone.

"Do they all open? I have an obverse 1964 Kennedy and thr rebverse is the liberty bell. It is perfectly put together and there is no evidence of 'putting' thje coin together. Maybe a small mark on the edge of thje coin but that's it. Anyone ever hear of on like this? Actually waht brought me to these boards. Thanks" In general, if a put-together Magician's coin looks normal then it will come apart. If a close examination shows that it is not a normal coin, like yours, then it does not come apart. If you think about their purpose, and how they could be used by magician this will make sense.

Nice find rachums. My first and only silver half from a bank was a 1968-D also. It was around 2 years ago and I was at the bank and I happen to have $5 on me so I said "eh why not. Lets see if they have halves". Took a while for the teller to get them and in just 10 halves I found that 68-D. Like I said that was my only silver half from a bank, because I don't search halves. Might just start again by going to banks and asking for any loose ones...

I was able to score four rolls of halves while dumping dimes today. I thought they might be somebody's dumps because they had familiar wrappers. But there were 5 40%ers and '72-S and '73-S proofs! There was also a '92 that appears to have been chrome plated and then had its edge worn off in a casino.

In picking up a box of cents today I nabbed $210 in CWR halves.15 40% and I was able to just drive across the street and dump the duds. Not bad for 15 mins of work :-)
I am loving the world of halves :-)

I got double skunked today...
Skunked on my box of halves ...and skunked at the bank when the teller gave me the look of death when I topped off the bag in the machine, and I only brought $140 of it back.
2 more boxes Friday.

I was at just the second bank when I heard a teller say, "We don't have any silver halves." Another one asked her how she knew. "1969 and earlier." I told her I still wanted them. Sure enough, one was a 1967! I was so glad my skunk streak was over. A few minutes later, my car started acting up. I took it to a shop, and got a ride home. I then hit a few more banks and got nothing good but a 2004 BU half. I went back to a bank that last week said they could order halves. The teller that told me wasn't there, and all the others had no idea what I was talking about.
