The mental image of smeone robbing someone of boxes of halves and trying to run away with them is rather amusing. LOL

Having said that, I can see why folks would be a bit nervous. Think about it. Its not to far fetched that a criminal would mark a person coming out of the bank with boxes of money and then follow them in order to rob them at some point. How many of us have a LOT of money in their dwelling? So a bit of paranoia is not a bad thing. Thats why collectors need to own two things. A safe and a gun.

Wrestling,
One thing I've noticed about the Midwest, particularly my area. I have better luck in the parts of town that are not well off if you catch my drift. All the well to do areas the tellers are either picking silver as it comes in or most people in them areas know about PMs and the stuff never makes it to the bank.

I too wish you luck, I know its brutal up here.

Where to sell silver halves? I am fed up with ebay, there used to be a forum for member sales but can't find it, all I find is "pocket it now"....is the auction site gone? How much luck would you think I would have on the pocket it now...does it have a lot of traffic? any help appreciated, have several rolls bu 64's, some 40%ers, and roll of avg circulated franklins need to get rid of. Thanksz for any help. (Moderator, hope I am not violating any rules or posting this in the work place, correct as needed)

Where do you live? The coin dealer near me does buy and sell. I have seen both when we visit and its not just a dealer that sprung up recently.

i always check the pocket it now...much less for sale now than when the forum had actual member "for sale" threads. but I think the pocket it now section still gets quite a bit of traffic. i'd be interested in seeing what you have to offer!

jedi.

basicbob, if you make a listing for your silver with a pocket it now, I'm sure many people will see it. and I'm sure it will get sold pretty fast if it is not grossly overpriced. I check PIN all the time to see whats new.

Opened the first three of six Brinks boxes I got from my (now formerly) favorite bank. They weren't skunked, but I don't like the idea of Brinks boxes. Anyways-
Box 1: A nice, lustrous 64D in the bottom center roll.
Box 2: A blackened 64D in the bottom center roll.
Box 3: A blackened 64 in the top center roll, with the following 1985 just below it in the roll.

8 boxes today.
Totally skunked on silver. Found a few NIFC and magician coins.
Getting skunked on 8 boxes leaves a bad taste in my mouth! I've never been totally skunked before.

4 boxes today, here are the results;
Box 1...(2) 90% (both 64 Kennedys), (4) 40%, (2) NIFC (04D, 05D)
Box 2... Absolute skunk
Box 3...(11) 90% (10 64s, 1 54 Franklin), (12) 40%, (5) NIFC (87P, 06P,
07P, 08P, 10P), (3) proof ( 77D, 78D, 82D) Obviously a
collection dump
Box 4...(1) 90% (64 Kennedy), (1) proof (77D)
This is the best and most diverse haul I have ever had. My first proofs from circulation
