Wrestling_135 - What part of the country are you from? Have you thought of opening an account at another bank and trying to order there? $25k worth of skunks is a lot of work. What kind of boxes rolls are they? Silver findings are getting slim all over the place, especially with the number of people pulling silver from circulation.

Silver Eagle, I am from Southeast South Dakota. I have tried from two banks. I don't have any banks around here willing to order without opening an account. Besides my town, the nearest bank is a half hour minimum away. Not worth finding one silver coin, it wouldn't even pay gas. I get those flat boxes with yellow paper rolls. The last box I got was stamped from August of 2011.
Pretty soon I'll have to give up the hobby altogether :(

Wrestling - Its all but dried up here. I will occasionally will get a box or two a week here but will be lucky if one falls out of it. The bank where I return coin has a counting machine so makes my return a little easier. I have gone out from an hour radius from here and have cherry picked many small town banks with some success but have found out that those small towns had those halves for years and were excited to get rid of them.
The fact of the matter is though it only takes one person to make one deposit of a bunch of silver halves and your back into it again. My best "hit" was in a college town (not yours, lol) where I scored 3 solid rolls of silver.
Ok, I'm rambling... picking up 2 boxes for the weekend. Maybe some of Chucksters luck will land on me for once...

I ordered two boxes at one bank that was due to come in today. The bank teller came out to talk to me. Seems the guy who delivers them delivers to a bunch of other banks in the area. He said EVERYONE is roll searching and they are having a shortage so he can't deliver anything today. My bank is hopefully going to get 14 boxes on Thursday and she can only sell 1 to me. She has that many other customers.
No wonder the silver is drying/dried up.

So I just recently started this wonderful hobby and my silver/NIFC stash is about the same size as some of the larger finds I have read people have over a weekend. Do you guys sell your finds or keep them?

I keep all I find! In fact a friend of mine just found 2 silver quarters in change received recently as well!

Nice Find! I have to say that may be my favorite coin design. It is just a stunning coin. I have found 1 in a bin of halves back when I was teller about 5 years ago.

Box #8(1) 1964 (1) 1967 (1) 1969@wrestling_135 I hope to get beginners luck for a long time. So far 8 boxes & 2 bags (a total of $5,000)and found silver in every batch! I have been seeing that you have no luck & I'm sorry for that. If it makes you feel better, all my finds are my father's. He buys & dumps and keeps the silver. I just get to help him search..lol I'd say don't give up. It only takes one good box to keep you going.

I did my second box this weekend. Nothing! I got $100 in rolls, nothing. I got a few loose from another bank, nothing.
