OK, last week, only 2 boxes as one of my head tellers was on vacation, and two others forgot to order. 5 40%. 500 in CWR that were obviously someones dump. Probably one of you. So Friday VACookey went to a bunch of banks snapping up star notes and old face bills along with CWRs. One bank she grabbed 4 rolls...24 40%!! Another bank has 6000.00 in crisp old faced 50s. We will be getting those Friday. The 24 40% were turned into this at the Vienna coin show yesterday... I love it when this hobby pays for itself

Of the 4 rolls I got at that bank, the first one was all silver. I almost started hyperventilating. Oh how I wish I could score like that every day.

Four boxes today One 90% Kennedy One 40% Kennedy One 87D Eight NIFC
At least I wasn't skunked on silver, but close. My bank seems to be getting new boxes of halves. Used to be unmarked black and white rolls, now they are white and yellow String and Sons. I was on a $4000 skunk streak, so hopefully these String and Sons will be for the better.

So, wait a minute. Are all halfs with and "S" mint mark proofs? (Or from Crypton?)

I find silver the easy way....I used to roll hunt...now I go and the tellers give me any silver they have found. Today I was handed two 40% silver Half Dollars (66p and 67p)

Quote: So, wait a minute. Are all halfs with and "S" mint mark proofs? (Or from Crypton?) All Kennedy halves you find with an "S" are proofs. However this is not the case with Franklins or earlier halves as the San Francisco mint was still minting coins for circulation.

I was at the grocery store and I walked past the customer service desk then thought perhaps I should go back and ask if they had anything. I'm glad I did. I got 2 67 halves.

Rewster, fredd, yeah, I am NOT complaining about that one. Only cost was time and effort of going through rolls. Which is something VACookey and I enjoy doing, so the cost is quality time with my wife. And I get a 32S out of it. Oh hurt my feelings. ;)

Alright, I'm done with halves... I grabbed a bunch of boxes hoping for something good. So I am giving up on halves for an unforeseeable amount of time... I am giving up at $25,000 worth of halves without a SINGLE silver!
I am doing dimes and averaging ONE DIME per box :(
