I don't see why you assume it is fake, the marks on the rim could be from a die clash. The off weight could be it was struck on a wrong thickness planchet, hence the different sound. You might have a nice error coin!

I don't know much about coins and have not come across any like this one in the 60-70 thousand I have searched in the past few months. Wouldn't it have some kind of ring to it bouncing off another coin. It doesn't sound like it has any metal content. It sounds like a poker chip.
I forgot to mention the rotation is off by maybe 7-8 deg.

Looks and sounds like a magician coin - they are lighter and feel hollow inside. You can tell by the cut along the edges on the reverse. I have found a few over the years over searching.

^ Put that coin in a glass and shake it lightly. That is the best way to seperate the halves of the coin. If it fits tight and comes apart correctly it has about the same value as a 90% half.

Also, the rotation being off pretty much makes it a certainty that it is a magician coin. It is hard to get that detail exactly right when using it.

Not sure about this 84d JFK being a Magician's coin, as magicians coins are usually made from 2 separate coins either being both heads or both tails or different denominations like a Roosevelt dime head and a Lincoln Cent reverse. Why would anyone bother making a normal Obv/Rev 1984D JFK a Magicians coin? Edited by chuckster 125

They're hollow and can contain other stuff, e.g. it's a good place to conceal a small coin or object like a microSD card.
