I searched $30 in customer wrapped rolls and $10.50 in loose coins today. No silver, but I did find a 2010P so not a total loss.

The customer wrapped rolls were odd - someone had taken wrappers for a $25 roll of 1 dollar coins and turned them inside out, and wrapped halves in that. I sort of figured it must have been from a roll hunter, but you would think they would have the correct wrappers, especially if they are re-using them.
Rest in Peace

, Smittyx07!

I can almost guarantee that casino halves will be the most nicked up bunch of non-silver halves you'll ever see. It's not like gamblers find a drawerful of halves and go gambling with them. They will have been recycled lots of times.

Thank you for the welcome biggfredd. My sister is a blackjack dealer and my brother inlaw a pitboss and have been collecting silver there for years and says he usually finds atleast 2 silvers a day just from the volume of rolls opened. Also from what I'm told their rols are replenished daily by brinks, not really counting on players for halves but the casino orders halves for their blackjack tables for 21 payouts so I figure its worth a shot. Hopfuly thats not the case. But if so I will be trying to find a bank to order cases from.

Rough week Nobis1, but it can change in a heartbeat- 1 box next week and "JACKPOT"!

Not doing real good this week myself with 8 total so far, but I got 2 more boxes to go for today.

I'm always happy with breaking double digits, so I need at least 2 more.

Post later today on the results.

Chuck.

Chuckster - my thoughts exactly. You have to take the bad with the good, and with these boxes, you never know. It does not hurt that last week was really good.

Only problem with that theory is 90% of dealers and 99% of collectors wouldn't recognize it, and any "civilian" who knows is already a magician.
I have learned to appreciate our natural curiosity. A finder may not know what it is, but as shown here they do seek information about its purpose. Once one learns something, an interest may form. It works for recruiting coin collectors, I see no reason why it cannot have the same affect on a future magician. You yourself have asked "Have you tried it yet?"

I did say maybe. I could be wrong. However improbable you think it is, it is possible.

Someone mentioned Casino halves. Which casinos use coins these days. I don't believe Atlantic City uses any coins now
