4 boxes of halves this week so far. The box that VACookey got the 3 Bens and 1 Walker in. Then 3 boxes that yielded one 66. 3 more in the next 2 days. Hopefully better than the last 3.

So I set forth on my travels today heading to my branch bank. I walked in and asked for 4 rolls of Halves. Sorry sir we have none. Ok I went to the next location 5 miles away. Walking in ask the teller for 4 rolls of halves if they had them. Her response was we have $3.50 worth the halves, but we have some presidental dollars in a roll. Ok I will take 1 I said. Headed to the car cracked open the ends to see Sacagawea dollar on each end. Bummed out I head to work. Stopped in one more branch before work, asked again this time for 1 roll. Teller tells me I need to go to a bigger branch location to get them. I told her that I had been to the 2 biggest in the surrounding area and they had none.

So with this all said and done I guess I am going to have to try nickels bfore they go missing.

Nickels won't go missing in my opinion, there is the debate, but if anything they'll just make them out of a different material. The hard part is finding someone who would be willing to pay you more for an item they can get at face value in ANY VOLUME from pretty much ANY BANK.

I stopped at 11 banks in three small towns around my city yesterday. I ended up with $480 in rolls and $83.50 in loose change. There was nothing in the change but I did get a 90%'er and five 40%'ers from the rolls.

Or maybe, just maybe, some older magicians trying to recruit YM's like we would recruit YN's (by spending something fun). Maybe.

Ive been on a $13K skunk, however that broke today thank god. I pulled a 1977 S Proof, 1 1978 Magicians coins, and 1 1964 Kennedy. One hole filler a 1988D, this thing is as if it JUST left the mint. Hopefully this is the start of something nice.
Till next time!

Only problem with that theory is 90% of dealers and 99% of collectors wouldn't recognize it, and any "civilian" who knows is already a magician.

Hi everyone new to the forum and have been collecting hand me downs since I was about 10 but have never crh. After reading the posts here I've gotten pretty amped on the idea and decided to give it a shot. Today I called the banks in town and made a run by all of them being as there are not many here. Gathered up $810 in halves and got 1x 1964, 2x 1967, 1x 1968, and 1x 1969. Just waiting for payday to have my family pick up some unsearched rolls from the casino they work at. Hoping for some good finds. Thanks for the great info from previous posts.

tamshowoff-

not all MC come apart, we could prolly tell from a pix.

Those that come apart can usually be pried with a razor or very thin/sharp knife.
