I give you credit for continuing to try. I can't get halves often and the one bank I last requested from in Oct still hasn't ordered them. That's a lot of halves with not even a little reward. I've only found 17 but in 8 boxes so to me that's preTty good

wrestling, Are you sure you are not just looking through the same 6-8 boxes? By that I mean you buy, search, and dump, and then someone else does the same thing just reversing the coin rolling company. I read you posts and feel bad for you man. I think I'd break my rule, and begin marking them; at least the crappy looking ones anyway. Hope your luck turns around.

you must doing something wrong wrestling , I'm in one of the most searched areas in usa but my skunks are in average 10 maximun 12 boxes ! I had never found a monster box but betwin my skunks I always find 1 or 2 coins to give hope . start to look for loose or cwr, maybe a different source because is too much ! the best boxes I had was 3 franks and 6x40% ,2 franks and 4x40% or 11x40% and 13x40% the rest was 1x40% or 90% or a plain skunk like 1xsilver then 10x skunks then one silver 10x skunks ; I all ready gave up from 6-7 boxes every week to only 1 or 2 maximum ! I have $750 in halves on the bank waiting for me since 2 weeks ago and I maybe gonna get it only tomorrow as I'm not that excited about halves anymore since I all ready know what to expect from my area . my best find was 2 rolls of solid silver from my tellers tray but is very hard to them to give up their silver as in my area 99% of the tellers are looking for silver also and nobody like to say yes we have couple rolls of halves lol so I have order the friggin alway stinking boxes lol . good luck my friend !

So I am going to be kicking it up a level. I am going to be dedicating another $750 so I can begin buying $1000 bags. The CU I am a member of has agreed to allow me to purchase all of their full half dollar bags. They have 7 locations. I am very hopeful with this because I will be eliminating the cherry pickers behind the counter or driving the trucks. The bad news is I have been told to expect a call about once every 4-6 months. I guess it will be 2 boxes of halfs a week until the cell rings.

$190 in CWR today yielded 1 1967. Quite a few of the bank tellers are starting to look through the halves.

I wonder if your friend is aware of the 40 percent halves.

Thanks for the suggestions Ricardo, I'll have to try a new bank. But no these aren't the same coins, I've seen all the different markings people make and I don't see any of the distinct ones twice.

Although my wife and I have always been fans of collecting and circulating Presidential dollars (and are thoroughly disgusted about the most recent Direct Ship Program ridiculousness) we've as of late been bitten by the Half Dollar bug. After going bank crawling over the past four days through about 9 branches and simply asking if the tellers have any had any Halves in their tills, we've come away with ~30, among them:
- 3 40% silver (1967x2, 1968-D)
- 6 bicentennials (5 of which are in such beautiful shape I'm considering sending them in for grading as I could see at least half of them come away as MS-66; someone must have deposited a collection)
- 1 no "FS" on the reverse (1973)
We also had two Ikes thrown at us as well. ("Here! You like these? Take them. They'll just sit here otherwise."; it was kinda funny.) :-) If we get any more into this, we might have to go the box-order route after all. :-) Peace, -Steve
