I did my sixth and seventh boxes tonight. Both were skunks in terms of silver. I've not yet found any silver halves in these Brinks boxes (boxes 1-7). I found a 1987P in box 7!
I have found a few each of 1992D and 1997D. I consider these semi-rare as I found 0 1992D and 1 1997D in all the boxes from 1-6, but a few each in ONLY in box 7... which is weird to me. 1982 and D was the same story (1 in boxes 1-6, but 2 in box 7). Anyone else think these dates are hard to find?

I did 8 boxes this week and found 8 silver. 3 Bennies (53, 53D, and a 62), a 64 Kennedy and 4 40%s. 6 of the boxes were skunks and appeared to be casino coins.
Chuckster, I have seen your posts for a long time now. You have pulled in way more than 1000 silver coins in 3 years. Do not sell yourself short man.

I went to Wendys and the cashier had to call over a manager to verify they were real. I went to the gas station today and the cashier thought that in 1 roll I gave her $20 (instead of the $10). I had to tell her they were half dollars and I owed another $30 If we don't make it a point to spend them, when do you suppose people will get used to seeing them? |

Yes I've had both flat and the square boxes, still skunks. These aren't the same coins over and over, because I don't see the same markings on these coins. I just bought a house and have a loan and insurance through two different banks, maybe they will count this as "having an account" and would let me purchase boxes. We'll find out, I'll try that after I'm moved in and all the dust settles.
I'm glad people think of me, but it's sad it's because of skunks lol And yes, when I say skunk I mean NO silver, not even the 40%.

This is my first post, I have been roll searching for 4 months. Got 4 boxes Friday. I asked teller if he had any loose halves he said I have 2 rolls an elderly lady brought in. The 4 boxes were skunks. The 2 rolls yielded 25 40% and 1 90%  I'm retired and I enjoy this very much and enjoy reading all the post. Happy holidays to all |

Got a good bag Friday after several dry months..
$1k bag yeilded...
38 - 40%s
9 - 90%
1 - undated walker (someone took a hammer and punch to this half)
5 - Bens
1 - 2005 Silver S proof
$8.05 in extra bent and damaged change (7 dollar coins included)

Stopped at a Capital One on my way to school this morning. The girl who had halves had only $6 worth, but out of those 12 halves, 6 were 40% silver. 2 from 1967, 1 from 1968, and 3 from 1969.   |

I have an incredible story to share. My father stopped in a new TD Bank today to dump $300 in Half Dollars in the Penny Arcade. Like always, he filled the bag and a teller had to come over to empty it. As she grabbed the full bag of half dollars (someone who dumped before my father) she dropped it on the floor. Two Walking Liberty's fell out. My fathers jaw dropped. She pick one up and said, "Aren't these worth more than a half dollar?" Thinking quick, my father told her that he accidentally dumped the wrong bag. He asked if they was any way that he can have that bag back. She gave him the 1st bag of $100 and exchanged it with the coins he was dumping. When he got home, he looked through the bag and here is what he found. (2) 1964 Kennedy's (1) 1960 Franklin (2) 1958 Franklin's (2) 1954 Franklin's (1) 1953 Franklin (2) 1952 Franklin's (1) 1951 Franklin (3) 1945 Walking Liberty's (1) 1944 Walking Liberty (2) 1943 Walking Liberty's (3) 1942 Walking Liberty's (1) 1936 Walking Liberty A total of 21 90% silvers! I haven't been home to see them yet. Maybe I'll post some pictures.   |

She probably got the message when he started "thinking quickly" and wanted to exchange the bag with his coins.

wow mets what an awesome and lucky haul! its the case where being there at that particular moment in time paid off big time! as for me not that good today 2 boxes no silver  but a whole load of NIFC's in BU condition, guess someone is dumping their mint rolls need the money for xmas perhaps? 2 more boxes tomorrow hope my luck changes for the better haha |

Went to several branches of my bank to order boxes of halves, pick up 2,40%. Stopped at a bank I do not bank at but been checking for halves they had a box so I bought it found 8. 40% I'm happy  . I've noticed when talking to tellers about coins they say oh your looking for the 1964 silver huh? I think alot of people do not realize that some silver coins were minted after 1964. They think it all stopped in 1964. I believe this is one reason there is still alot of 40% silver out there. |
