Quote: My skunk streak is at $35,500 right now, I picked up a box from a different branch, we'll see what happens. Darn man, I'm sorry to hear that. You just may be at the wrong bank branches at the wrong time. If it makes you feel any better, I got $200 in machine rolled halves and didn't find a single silver.

14 more boxes, found 5, 90% Kennedy & 21, 40% Kennedy one was a 1969s proof my first silver proof. Also found 2 more clad proofs Also found 3 more gold plated counter-stamped coins 2 shown. I have found 7 of these so far. Does the date represent the anniversary of Kennedy"s election? Shiny colors do not do well on my scanner

Was at the bank yesterday and got 6.50 face in halves from a teller. 1 1964. Sweet. Same tray gave me 2 %40ers last week. Smokeriderdon. You and I are in the same town and I have searched a ton of marked coins. Maybe yours, maybe not, but it is pretty annoying. I've pitched plenty of JFK's that I would have otherwise held onto for my folders.
It is what it is I guess.
Merry Christmas to everyone.

Trapper, did you actually get 14 boxes at once? If so, that's crazy. How did you do that?

DanMan I order from them different branches of the same bank I use, one orders 4 for me every week, another 6, another 4,another 4 and I pick up some here and there. I bring them back to the same bank I got them from in plastic coin bags they hold $1000.00. They send them off to be counted and then they credit my account. One branch credits my account when I bring them in, after the count if I'm short they debit my account. One branch wants them rolled. different branches different managers different rules.

I think I'm done with halves for a while. It's just getting pathetic and a huge waste of time as you can see from my stats below. Good luck to all of you in your searches.

I'm with you friend, halves are dry, some are still good in areas though it seems still. The 4 in my picture are from 5 boxes. If I find one 40% in two boxes I'm happy and that's pretty lame.

A couple of days ago I stopped at 30 banks and picked up about $1800 in rolls and another $60 from teller trays. I could have picked up another $1000+, but I limit myself to a max of $200 from each bank. $800 turned out to be re-wrapped Brinks and String rolls, which of course produced nothing. I ended up with 5 90%, 4 40%, and 6 NIFC. All 5 90%'ers came from one roll. For me, roll searching has become a complete hit or miss. I sift through rolls and rolls of clad just hoping for the one good roll that is dropped off by an unknowning person.
