Well I'm on vacation and have a little time to try my luck on a few rolls. Havent done so in about a year. Silver has dried up so much now. I remember when I started out I would get solid silver rolls every once in a while and not think all that much about it. What I wouldnt give to do that now! But it was very addicting and fun, so I will once again make a visit to the banks. We'll see!

Is it just me or do some tellers look at you like "They know what you are doing..." when you ask them for half dollars? I have just no dad-gum luck recently. I will continue the fight though. My current stash has not changed in weeks.

I actually encountered an elderly woman dumping coins at a coin machine today. I saw a silver-looking half, and I offered her a Sacagawea dollar for the half and a couple of Canadian coins that were rejected by the machine. It turns out the half was a '68-D.

The tellers at my bank may know what I am doing or may not but I know they are not collecting, they always have loose half's in their drawers and I have made some nice finds buying them up.

Hello, I've been lurking for some time now. I live in Oklahoma. Been buying bags of $1k from my local bank with no luck. I'm thinking they are probably the same coins being used at the local casinos. So I switched to a national bank (BOA) last week. They use Brinks, which was bad news from my perspective because my original bank used Brinks. Ordered $1500 (Hoping they would order boxes or a mix). Received 3 Brinks boxes. First box had 10 1964 kennedy's, 6 franklin's, 1 extremely worn walker, and 2 nifc. By far my best box to date. My wife did the second box and found 11 nifc but no silver. Will do the other box tonight.
I want to offer a general "Thank You" to the members participating on this topic. The information has been very helpful and it's always nice to see how others are doing. I also have a general request. I'm always curious about the location, bank, types of bags or boxes, and the courier used by your bank. I realize some aren't comfy with providing this info but if you are....please do!

I got $240 in Brinks rolls from SunTrust. Almost all of them were between 2001-2005 (all uncirculated), but I did get one 1969 in that bunch. Then at another bank, the teller had $26.50 in loose rolls and I ended up with a 1966 & a 1968!

My final box produced 4 40%ers, 1 really nice 1987, 1 1980 Proof, and a few NIFC kennedy's. I hope the first 3 boxes are a sign of what's to come! And if not, they've provided enough motivation to keep me charged up for awhile.

picking up my second box of half's today from the bank, I think while I am there I will try and get at least one box of nickels as well. Although my first box of half's only yielded 1 "S" proof I am totally addicted to roll searching.

thanks Biggfred and all. I ordered from one of my bank's branches. she said must be at least $500. I'm not sure about dumping. I guess I could always just deposit them into my bank? I don't think they could refuse me that, especially with business account. Can't wait though. Got $50 in nickels, my favorite right now, and got 8 rolls of BU 2011 P. Give 2 to friend collector and kept rest. Also got 1 War Nickel so far, but not done searching rest. Unfortunately, there's things getting in my way, like eating and sleeping.

A Hong Kong Dollar, that is cool, is it worth anything above face value?
