10 boxes this week. Found 20 40%s. It is rough sledding these days. Seems like the silver is really drying up. Not sure it is worth the dumping and gas anymore.

ken, I mean the rims theres little marks on it - dashes and dots on every coin it was so dissapointing as I never seen that before

Two banks produced three silver halves: 1967, 1968, and a 1950 Booker T. Washington  What exactly is the deal with the Washington half dollar? What percentage of silver is it, and what is its value?   |

numismedia prices your Booker t. Washington at 16-30 depending on condition and does list it as a silver commemorative. It is 90% silver.

Finished 4 boxes found
1,40%
3 proofs 1980, 1981 & 1994 all in sad condition.
Not finding much here in the Fort Worth area
every teller I talk to says several people asking every day for halves.
Most of the tellers are wise now.
One teller at Wells Fargo bluntly told me I keep all the silver in this bank.I said politely that was not fair to the customers she got ticked and tried to charge me $7.50 for a box of pennies.
Will just keep plugging away and hope for a lucky dump
in a box.

More people are knowing about this coin hunt rolling process and well gaining the knowledge that pre 65 coins are silver.
Lets say, we start off with a family of 100 people, of course we love to share our hobbies with fellow friends and stuff so that'd be 300 people now, those 300 spread their wings to 2 more additional friends each (300+600) = 900 and so on. ALOT of people know about this now.
One of my bank tellers offered me a 1964 Silver Dime that he found, he's in ,my dump bank so I offered to give it up to him.
Yeahhh, it sucks but its over.

I am going to ask for four boxes this coming week seeing that my tax refund is due in.
I am not sure if the lady who has been ordering them for me will order this many, but
I am hoping some bribery will help. :)

Hello everyone, I am new to this site! Started searching a couple of months ago and I am hooked. The last 2 boxes I recently opened were all 1993 P Kennedy halves. I took them to my local coin shop and he said they were un-circulated and in original bank rolls. As I said I am new to the searching, and couldn't find much out there on what a roll of these would be worth and was hoping for some help. I will definately be keeping some rolls because of the collector in me, but was hoping for some help to make sure my coin dealer is being fair with me. Any input would be greatly appreciated! The 2 boxes prior to these I found: 19 40% in one and 8 40% and 2 90%(kennedy)in the other. |

Thank you Starlight, I saw that on ebay as well! I guess my next decision is whether to try and sell them individually on ebay or just take a knock in price and try to unload some at the local coin shop. The more I can unload the more boxes I can buy to keep the roll hunting alive! Always nice to learn new things about coins, and from searching for silver to finding these it has definately been informative and fun. |
