Yesterday a friend on mine who works at a Dollar General came out to my suv before I left the store. He said I feel really bad. I asked why and he said: "Because I know how much you love collecting coins, especially the silver ones and I had thirteen silver dollars today but I had no cash money on me to trade for them and I lost your phone number so I couldn't even call you so you could come bring the cash to trade". I asked if he meant real silver dollars and he said yes. He was sick about it. I gave him my number again and asked him to call me next time he saw some and I would come buy them off him. Then I felt just sick about it too. To be so close to having that many real silver dollars and missing them by a small technicality. Ouch!
On a different note: am going to check with my buy bank today and see if they got my halves in and when I can start picking them up. I have 2 more boxes ordered at a separate branch for Thursday afternoon. If they really did order my 57 boxes I just might croak at this point! Lol! Anyway, still hunting away with whatever coins I can get.
Terrific news on everyones' recent finds. Congratulations to you all!

Quote: Here are my best finds out of my first four boxes ever... Nice finds! I especially like the high number of proofs that you found. I suspect that a collection was dumped. At least a you found them before too much damage could happen.

Yes, I was happy each time I found a nice proof. I found about five that were completely black like they had possibly been in a fire. I tried to clean them with acetone like my local coin dealer suggested but had no luck.
I have three more boxes coming tomorrow and hope to find some silver and more proofs.

$6.50 in teller trays today yielded nothing. That brings searching teller trays to over $100.00 dollars at multiple banks in multiple banks without finding a single silver. Luckily I have my second box coming in tomorrow which gets me so excited that today's failure doesn't upset me in the slightest.

Called ahead today to see if my halves are in yet because the teller said it would be either Wednesday or Thursday of this week. Not yet. Saved myself the gas of going on today on a fruitless trip. Will see what tomorrow yields. However, last night at the ER with a friend I ended up with an AU very nice Vicksburg ATB Quarter and a pristine Denver mint Chicasaw ATB Quarter from trading a woman dollar bills after the snack machine spit out $4 in change for her $5. The girl working the admitting desk was kind enough to sell me 4 rolls of pennies to search. I found a dime in one of the rolls in addition to several 60's and 70's pennies. One 1959 penny in decent shape. Also found a well worn but free dime in the coin counter the day before at one of my local dump branches. So I'm up 19 cents in two days....lol

I checked today and was told they weren't in yet. The teller who ordered them was already gone for the day but is supposed to call me in the morning to let me know. I called ahead so that I wouldn't have to waste gas if they weren't in yet. On the other hand, my Presidents are all current through 2011 now. My Statehood Quarters are finished and my ATB's are well under way. Thank you Vetstudent. Some will catch up with me eventually.

Monks,
Sorry about the skunks. My second two boxes were pretty much skunks short of some NIFCs.
I have three coming tomorrow and am hopeful they will fare better.

I was able to convince Wells Fargo to order me two boxes a week. I told them, "I am a serious customer and I expect you to do this for me. If you don't do it, I'll have to bring my accounts elsewhere.". Quite frankly, I'm sick and tired of feeling like I'm doing something wrong requesting regular orders of boxes. We're not committing a sin here! We're coin collectors and numismatists, and we have nothing to be ashamed of.
I also got my dump bank to order me a box a week. They are a state bank, so I want to see how their boxes are. Could interfere with my dumps a little, but I want to see how they do.
So now, I've got 2 boxes from one BOA branch, 1 box from another BOA branch, 2 boxes from Wells Fargo, and 1 from my local state bank, per week.
The BOA order is very inconsistent in their delivery, so I won't even worry about those; I will let them call me. The Wells Fargo is more serious; they said you HAVE to pick them up every week,; if you don't, we'll stop ordering them.
Hoping for some good finds in all these odds.
P.S. Welcome back M0nk.
P.P.S. Nice finds on those proofs up above! I never find proofs, only 1 in 15 boxes.

Okay, here are the boxes I received today. I ask for three but Tina only ordered two. Hey, I cannot complain seeing how I have ordered two boxes about every two weeks for the last month or so. I guess once you set a precedent, you cannot say to much if it sticks. Now, my first four boxes all had yellow-and-white wrappers. These all have brownish grey-and-white wrappers. Also, Tina told me the order from Brinks. So, I have gotten four boxes with yellow based wrappers and these two with greyish based wrappers.
