Looks like no silver in boxes 9-11 but have found some NIFCs.

Just a hand full of rolls to go, but I am finding an above average number marked
coins in these boxes. Maybe number 12, at the bank, will fair better.

I have had one crappy day and really need something to turn positive here.
Rest in Peace

Its just painful to being so close to a score and then get nothing. But I am happy for her.

$500 was certainly a fair offer, I'd take it.

Bishftl, I would be happy to find 1/4 of what you are!

Haven't seen much of you since page 700. Back to skunks, or just taking a vacation?

jizer1...

keep asking her about them when you see here and let her know your offer still stands...

funny thing is, even if she knows the value, guaranteed she cant get close to melt for them... try to be the mediator and help her sell them for a small %...

Great finds, Bish; great pics too.

It does feel like we're getting recycled boxes of dumps often. But every time I feel like I'll never find another silver, I get a half decent box with 8 or 10 silvers.

I do find that the last few boxes have all been 40's when there's any silver there, which leads me to believe that if they ARE being sifted at the coin depots before being wrapped and boxed, they either don't know about 40's, or they miss the ones with darker rims, as I almost did last box.

Will post results of 2 most recent Wells Fargo boxes later. Got a beauty 2003 S NIFC Proof that I will post.

Happy Easter, everyone

Many banks have policies about the tellers buying/taking coins from customer deposits. I know our local bank has a very STRICT policy against this. The head teller receives all coin deposits (must be rolled, no loose stuff). anything silver is noted and customer informed. Surprisingly, many customers don't care and deposit the coins anyway. Employees are not allowed to buy any. No profiting from the banks business, or something like that.

A phone call to the bank can verify if they have a policy regarding customer deposited money. Lots don't even realize the silver certificates they deposit either!

JJ650- I know in georgia where I am, I work at a bank and have not heard such policies. We are not allowed to take cash/coin from our own vault/drawer, but the trick is we sell to our partner then make a withdrawal from our account and get the money that way. I can say that my bank allows me to take bags home from our counter and when I buy a box of change for my drawer I go through them and reroll them like cwr's. So noone coming through our drive through gets new fed rolled coins :P

You are in a lucky position! Would be nice to intercept them and if I worked at a bank, I would be doing it too (assuming it was ok to do so in the eyes of the bank).

I was on the phone with my brother about a week ago. He said that he went to the bank to get change for the plastic Easter egg hunt we have for the kids, which was today. Last week on the phone he said my Mom opened up a roll of the halves to help fill the 96 eggs and he looked over and noticed they looked rather unusual.
Here she was banging around a roll that contained the following and he told her to STOP!
All are probably at least still MS60 plus or PF 60 plus except a 1984P 1983D and a 1974 which have been around the block a few times.

The nice ones are

2000P
2000 D
2000 S Proof ... yes there were proofs in here too.
2001 D
2002 P Two of them
2002 D Two of them
2002 S Two of them
2004 S
2005 P
2005 D
2005 S
1976 P
1980 P
1980 D

After he showed me these today, they weren't so bad but fingerprints were on some of them and I did see some tiny contact marks on a couple of the proofs. I used acetone dip and rinse with spring water and the fingerprints are gone and they look much better. I don't think I did any harm here.
I put them all in folded paper, labeled and stapled them shut, make a list and put all that in a sandwich bag and handed them to him.
He said I should sell them for him.
Later on, we all were going to Easter dinner with the family, before we drove off, he said he had an Easter present for me and gave me the halves.
He said I worked so hard on them that I could have them and said Happy Easter!
I said I was more happy with the thought of him giving me them, than getting the coins. He is such a nice brother, thinking of others before himself all the time.
I suspect that somebody emptied out an album and took them to the bank. Whether stolen or just cashed in, I bet there were more. He instinctively did go back to the bank, but he said they had no more halves in the bank. He got the last roll.

One additional box tomorrow. First three had a few NIFCs including two 1987s.

Like other posts here, I did notice a lot of marked coins and could sense these
had come from a batch that had already been gone through. Compared to my earlier boxes,
these last three had far more worn, common dates than I have previously experienced and many
were marked.

First a question. Does anyone get anal to the point of making sure that your buy and dump banks use different transit companies? The banks I'm using currently both use Loomis, I don't know if I should be concerned or mark a box as a test.

Second. My results from boxes 1-14
