Can anyone tell me anything about this?

JFK-Half-Dollar-Roll-Hunters:-Silver,-Proofs-And-Other-Finds

The entire center is raised up on the obverse and sunken on the reverse. Almost as if someone gently "pushed" on the center of the coin. There are no scratch marks or anything to indicate a blunt force. Is this a mint error or is it obviously post mint? I'm new to the errors stuff so I have no idea how to identify this as a true error or just a messed up coin.

Here's another one where I attempted to brighten it up a bit so you could see the edge better:

bdw... I think almost all 71 and 72 JFKs are like this. I see this quite often.

I had to run an errand in another town today, and went by a few banks I've never been to. Not bad; one teller had 3 40%!

I'm wondering if it was caused by clashed or worn dies. You might want to repost in the error identification forum.

Stopped in at my local BofA branch to get a box of pennies and asked the merchant teller if she'd gotten in any full size dollars or halves. She had 1 Ike and 18 halves. Out of those 18 halves were these:

1963D
1964
3x 1964D
1966
3x 1967
1968D
2x 1969D

I was grinning from ear to ear walking out of there. Most silver I've ever scored.

bdw, I think it's just how they are made, something with uneven stamping I was guessing. If you look at the different years of halves, you'll notice they have different sized Kennedy heads, meaning they are using different designs. I think that is an early 70s design flaw, not a clue why.

If you find out differently, let me know! I have thrown some AU ones back like this.

rotated reverse update.

the coin checks out, nice sound, 11.2-11.3g, no "magic" seams. I must have scanned this one for a half hour or so and compared to another '73. it even has some MD on the reverse lettering.
