So the bank that had a $500 bag of Loomis coin, which produced well, has agreed to order another bag form me. I'm really excited. This is the first bank, that I don't have an account with, that has agreed to order halves for me. I may have to open an account if their boxes continue to produce.

1st half dollar box ever:

$500 searched yesterday

90%: 2 = 64 x 2
40%: 3 = 66, 67, 68D
NIFC: 3 = 03D, 06D x 2
73S clad proof

That seems to be above average, so I'm happy.
Picked up two boxes yesterday, so I have one more to search tonight.

Anything over 226 on the right.... anything under on the left.

JFK-Half-Dollar-Roll-Hunters:-Silver,-Proofs-And-Other-Finds

so far no "whoppers" - the heaviest being 226.5 - best by weight/guaranteed silver has been anything over 227. I realize these numbers are a bit strange, but if you consider wear on the coins plus my scale is a cheapy - it's consistent enough.

I know I know... why weigh your coins? Because I'm OCD like that... save all the "heavy" ones to the end.

Can someone post a link to the list of half dollar errors to check (if there is one) Tried searching, but can't find and need it relatively quick.

Obviously silver/ S Mints/ NIFC's/ 1974D DDO/ etc... but I can't remember the rest to check for "No FG" and other obscure DDR/DDO's

Sorry for the laziness, but I want to have my girlfriend sort while I cut the grass and want to give her a list.

Thanks in Advance!!

Hey Kenscott - I have a spreadsheet I've built too. It's loaded with the amount of silver content per coin, and so it's easy to get a melt value now. I guess that's the most logical way to value inventory. It doesn't account for any numismatic value of coins of course. Along with the dog-coins, everyone surely has some pretty nice looking coins they've put in their stash. But, that's gotta be very elusive to figure.

Found this baby after I had already rim searched for the silver.
Was going through each coin for NIFC and Proofs and such, and there she was!

I cleaned it with vinegar overnight (forgot to take it out) and it looks
nice now.

Years ago, the gubmint supposedly weighed bags, so they knew which ones to sort for silver as the price rose. Not altogether different from miners processing poorer ore at higher prices.
