got a box of nickels today and in the bank tray from the teller next to me I saw 2 silver edges. I asked to buy them but she was closing her till :( Anyways, the manager went to get me a box of nickels and when she handed it to me I asked if I could buy those silver halves. She said yes! Hope I didn't annoy them. Anyways:
1951 s Ben 1966
My first Franklin from circulation! Now I have 7 total silvers from bank trays, and amazingly I have a ben and a walking liberty among those 7.

Quote: i get two different types of boxes from 2 different banks. the first 5 I had were brown/white, the second 4 were s&s which normally don't have much in them. The s&s are the yellow and white ones, right? I only have one source bank, so that's the only kind I ever get. I haven't gotten shut out, but I wouldn't mind doing better.

OK, just went through $24,000 in halves in 3 days time. Found the score of a lifetime.
40 - Kennedy 90% (BU) Brilliant Luster 4 - Franklins (Including 1961 Proof) 28 - 40% Mixed grades 11 - Proofs 3 - 1987 1 - Foreign Irish Coin
To make things even sweeter, I returned them to my dump bank. Not all at one branch of course. The teller brought one up to the counter after running them through the counter and told me for some reason this one didn't go through the machine. She tried it 3 times. I checked out the date... Sure enough it was a 1967 Kennedy I managed to miss because it was discolored.
Best Box had 8 90% kennedys and 8 40% Kennedys. Best Roll had 3 90%
I will be ordering another $24,000 Monday morning in hopes to cash in on someone else's loss

Very wise going with $24,000. 25 would just be ostentatious.

Its people that do and think like this that hurt our hobby. Bank changes rules and fees in 3...2...1... Wonder how many people it will affect. Guess it doesn't matter...their loss?
We aren't entitled...banks are in business to make money. If you push hard enough, they will change the rules. And it doesn't matter if you have a great relationship, or buy a box of donuts every day. When the regional manager realizes that 'coin miners' are cutting in to the bottom line, he'll change the rules. Our donuts probably aren't making it up the corporate ladder.

Darn, guy. If you are ordering 48 boxes of halves from one bank without paying any fees, that will last about one or two more times until you get cut. If you are returning more than two or three boxes at a time for free without any fees, you are also going to get cut extremely fast. This isn't for me, but it's in your best interest to spread your pickups and dumps out!

I put $500 of Kennedys through machines at my dump banks, and got credited a total of $503.95. I'll take a return on my investment anywhere I can find it!

48 boxes... could you post a picture of all those boxes at once? I think you're pulling everyone's leg.
Your numbers are not exactly the score of a lifetime, as some here have hit similar numbers on a single lucky box.
You ARE very lucky, though, to have so many 90%ers compared to 40%ers. Those numbers are way out of line with the norm.
