Hi, I am wondering if someone can help me identify this half dollar. It is a 1973 and is gold in color or gold plated. It has the dates of 1960 and 1985 imprinted in it. Please see the image below. Thank You Image: 1973halfdollar.jpg45.18 KB

We may never know what the reason is behind every counterstamped coin. We can assume that this one is celebrating 25 years of something. Good luck in your search!

Can we say DRY! Silver has been WAY down for me - I am only getting about 1 - 2 a box IF I am lucky! Now, the bags from the bank coin counting machine on the other hand......very good....

I have one of those gold plated ones stamped 1960-85 as well, though mine has a 1980 date.

I opened a new account at a different bank with the intent of them ordering halves for me. Thw head teller said she would be fine with it as long as I don't stick her with them like the last guy did! I told her I would take her $300.00 worth off her hands and dump them someplace else (She told me that she and the tellers had been through them). Expecting to find only a few I needed for my set, I went through the rolls! 1964(1), 1965(1), 1966(1), 1967(1), 1968d(2), & 1969d(1). I was very happy that they missed a couple rolls!

I did another 2 boxes, got one 2001 S proof, a 1976 major Cud, and two 67's (one in each box) all I really want is a dang walker or ben, heck even a 64, just any 90%!

I picked up my Fed box today and it had been opened, then taped back up. All the rolls were heads up with no silver showing :(

I got 4 boxes today- 2 fed boxes had nothing. I had one Brinks box with 2 40%ers. I got 7 40%ers out of customer rolls, and the other Brinks box had 3 very nice 1964s and 4 barbers 1 - 1906 1 - 1907 1 - 1908 1 - 1908o The barbers are all very worn but readable I had posted on here before that I had found a 1912 barber which really surprised me, but I would have never expected to find 4 at one time. After all I've only ever found 3 walkers total.

Nice find on the Barber Don. I still haven't found one either, or a walker for that matter. Yesterday's box had many marked coins from previous hunters, but I did get a 1968 D, so it wasn't a complete skunk.

Still waiting on my box! I hope they wont give me a problem with ordering more. I'm really tired of going through cents and nickels.
