Went through ten rolls today and found a 1969 Kennedy half! That puts my total at 1 Walker, 1 90% Kennedy, and 1 40% Kennedy!

This has happened to me before.... a silver coin in the very first roll in the box. After another $490 dollars worth of searching, you still just got that one silver coin. Not that I'm complaining, as one beats none. But that anticipation that maybe this is a big one, well...
Did find 10 NIFCs, and my first ever clad proofs, two 2009S Kennedys.

I here ya jwguts, how about 2 enders, and only 3 in the box, I have had that one. Today and yesterday were 5 skunk boxes, then the last box 43 rolls in, and finally 1 40%, finishing the last 7 rolls with nothing more. good luck keep at it, I have 8 more boxes this week.

You guys are flooring me! I hear most of you talking about getting several $500 boxes! I usually have like $ 60 at the most to go roll hunting with! I need your kind of liquid assets! :) But I can't complain.....I've been blessed with 87 silver halves since I started roll hunting in July!

Anyone know what this is? A gold half dollar?

Iv found several of those gold plated halves, look like it has the counterstamp above "in god we trust". Not worth any premium that I know of. I personally save them if the plating is still in good shape.I also save all drilled coins, and cool looking toned coins.

I have found a few plated coins over the years.
To reiterate, they are definitely not a mint product, but something done by a private entity for a variety of reasons, most often sold for a premium to people who do not know what they are.
The half dollar above, with the dual (post mint) stamped dates (1960 and 1985), was created by someone to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Kennedy's election.

At work related trade shows, I have often come across plating companies who have plated some coins as handouts. Not usually half dollars, but I suppose it's possible.

Hello all went out today. went to few banks in town found today roll of 40% Kennedy. Went to a bank I normally stop by to ask for half dollars. ladie said she didnt have any halves. Then she said I got ten big silver dollars asked if I wanted them I said sure and one of them was a 1897 Morgan silver dollar.
