what is interruption? I don't know anything about grades or how to determine a true cameo, I've seen some heritage items that go both ways, they look cameo but aren't or don't look cameo but grade as cameo.

that's why I sent in what I thought were some of my better looking halves, so I can get an idea of how they grade them.
wish they would have notes on the invoice telling why they graded how the did.

If someone had searched them, you could tell it was a ROOKIE!! I think a lot of people searching
halves do not even realize the 1965-1970 coins are worth money.

I was looking at some local Craigslist listings for those who will buy coins, etc. and I think every single
one listed coins before 1965. In short, I think they are just rookies who do not really know what they are missing.

Okay by me though seeing that leaves more 40 percent halves out there for me to hopefully find.

BTW, I was simply searching for any local listings with the words coin or sterling. Sometimes you do find some good buys if you are diligent. As for running an ad, I think most people have become so inundated with such things they simply ignore them.

I think the real way to find decent buys is to simply talk to people you meet every now and then and have a small business card to hand them. It may sound old fashioned, but I think the personal contact can make a big difference.

Back after a two week vacation and got a 1966. Also I got 4 rolls that had all 1976's in them.

Went today and bought $100 that was bagged by a local bank. Nothing! Except a quarter that had been smashed into half dollar size. Oh well, I took it out of the roll and replaced it. I don't want my dump bank to stop taking them because I short them... oh well.

@kenscott: Exactly! People mostly have no clue about the 65-70's, and in my opinion, I'm glad they don't!! :)

What is interesting about this particular sort is that I found alot of painted Halfs. I'm new to this forum but I noticed that there was talk about people painting their dumps. What people painting should try to remember is that the coin is mixed over and over with different coin. I wouldn't have been able to find the coins above if it wasn't. When I first started CRH I would see coins marked "SM" - I spoke to the guy doing it. He lives in the same state but a couple hundred miles away. Even with finding his mark on literally EVERY SINGLE sort I do. I manage to pull out a nice chunk of "junk silver." Just my 2 cents :-)
