Murphy, that photo made me smile - nice thing to see looking back at you.
Dave, good luck on that first box! Needless to say my last find was the exception rather than the rule. We all go through many skunk boxes between the keepers. My last finds, 5 rolls with 19 silver, was second to my very first try at roll halves a couple of months ago. I got about 3/4 of a box from the bank which had two longer $20 rolls. They had a certain look to them that made me think, hmmmm...maybe. I opened ten or so of the smaller rolls and then grabbed one of the bigger ones. It had about 10-12 silver coins in it. The second roll was all silver if I remember it right with 12 90% '64's. It spoiled me for a while. For many boxes after were skunk or nothing but a few NIFC.
Fade to Black, as far as I can tell, is the King of CRH's. Dude! I can't imagine moving that many coins! Saaaaaaaalute!

I dropped by four close banks today and picked $50 in CWR. Three of the rolls were in old, worn wrappers which had to have some age on them. I was excited when I saw them and disappointed when I went through them. Clearly, they had been gone through.
As for handling half dollar you get in boxes, I found it much easier to simply pry one end open and the place the halves bank in the roll when done. I simply pressed the opened end down and it worked well for me. The wrappers are strong and a little practice will save a lot of time re-wrapping.

I actually want to try to give FTB a run for his money, at least on volume, I have another 8 boxes coming this week, looks like I may be able to get a "free" 10k to play with and put in rotation on coin in a couple weeks so I will be able to bump my box volume.

YVA, it will beat you up... 40 boxes a week is exhausting, man. Especially working 40-45 hours a week on top of that and going out hunting Monday and Tuesday... it takes a toll. I've given up searching on the weekends for the most part, just to get some downtime.
I basically wake up at 11:30-12 every day, get a shower, go out, hit up banks and dump, come home, carry all my boxes in, search for maybe 30 minutes to an hour, log onto work at 5:30pm, wrap up around 2am, finish searching, then do my nightly workout around 3:30-4, then hit the sack.
I mean, I didn't even have halves coming in today and I picked up 3 boxes of quarters, 6 boxes of dimes, 3 boxes of nickels... I don't like having my money sit unused for more than a day or two at a time... plus it's a lot harder to steal 200 pounds of change than it is to steal a wad of hundreds.

Yep I know, especially when you pull 11 blanks like today. Right now I am a full time student so this was something to just pass some time, it started with pulling copper pennies, still am, but I would really like to fill the safe with silver, LOL who wouldn't. With my kids pitching in it doesn't take too long to search it all.
What are you using to haul your coin in and out of the bank? the guy at the bank turned my little folding hand truck into a taco today.....
Do you ever have any luck with quarters? I usually get skunked with junk coin mixed in.

@FTB
I don't have the cash to withdraw more than two boxes at once. Once I get get enough to do 2000 per bank, then I can do 16 boxes a week. But my banks are gonna cap me at two grand per week.

I just finished last weeks 3 boxes last night. Went through the first 2 with nothing. Half way through the third, I resigned myself to not getting anything. I was surprised to see a very vivid silver coin peaking out of one of the last rolls. There was a 40%er tucked in there as well. It was my first 2000 series silver proof. 2004S. I guess these are 90% silver. This thing is beat up bad too. If not silver, it wouldn't even be a rescue proof. I can't imagine how many people must have passed over this coin. As abused as the obverse and reverse were, the edge was as brilliant as any coin I've seen. Truly stuck out like a sore thumbAnyway, It was a nice surprise.

OO, Great find on the Silver Proof. I'm still looking for my first. I have found plenty proofs from 1992 to present, none of them have been silver yet.
It really does make me wonder how some of these proofs, silver or clad, make it back into circulation? The sad reality is that they were either stolen from a collector or given to someone by a collector and just dumped into a coinstar for quick cash. It would kill me if my proof sets were stolen and dumped.

I was hauling by hand but it was too many trips, I have fibromyalgia and I can usually carry like 4 boxes of pennies at a time, 2 boxes of halves but if it's a bad day even one box can make my arms feel like they weigh 100lbs each and I hurt like heck for a couple days. once I went over 4 boxes per pickup I went to a hand cart. I think I am going to get one of the smaller folding flatbeds, I used one that the bank had when I made a haul of mint wrapped and bagged coins someone turned in for face last week and it was way easier than a hand truck.

Those flatbeds are nifty, you can get ones that are like 30 bucks at harbor freight. I was gonna get one but procrastinated and here we are...
