Bernie, my bankroll is only $5kish, I turn it over 4 times a week, minimum.
Yva, ordering that many boxes will get ya cut off... my 40 boxes come from like 14 banks.

just trying to push it, I only have 3 banks that will order for me, one delivers on monday(don't know the guard company) and 2 on friday that use garda so I split what I want on fridays and load up one on monday, so far the guy just laughs about it, the day he doesn't I will half it or something. For me to order from other banks I would have to drive 25 miles one direction or 35 the other, there are 2 other banks I can try and get accounts at but one already said it costs them per box ordered and I do pull some CWR from them every week or so and the other is pretty small potatos.

You gotta realize your limitations, man... if you lose that one bank, then what?
I wouldn't push it past 6 boxes (total) a week, but that's just me. I hope you don't get cut off, however, I'm not very optimistic for you unless you have like, $50k+ in deposits.

I have my house with them, kids accounts, and personal account. Now that I am back in school I was thinking about cutting my numbers in half, using one of the banks that uses the carrier as my dump bank(already am) and the others as my friday supply. I have thought about making a day of it and driving and hitting as many as I can but would probably have to drive about 100 miles round trip to hit a dozen or so banks.

Went by a smaller bank this past Friday and asked if they had any halves. The first teller said they she did not have any and that they only tended to get the gold dollar coins.
Then, as I was walking away, a second teller said she had some only to immediately be told by a third teller that I did not have an account and that they only dealt with those holding accounts.
Realizing what was going on, I just turned to them and said "I guess I will just have to open an account." If I do, they can pretty much be sure they will be getting all my dumps. If they had just been forthright and told me the truth I would not have had a problem. Yet, just flat out deception is something that does not set well with me.
Anyway, I hope to go by one a few of the PNC branches and see if they will order halves. I am not sure if I should ask before opening an account or possibly after. What is your experience?

I'd still be careful, YVA. You're costing them plenty of money, and if they're not a large bank, they may take issue with the additional cost of keeping you satisfied. I know you want to do the kind of volume I do, but I live in the NE I-95 corridor... the density around here is just through the roof compared to anywhere else in the country, and as a result, there's a crapton of options as far as acquiring coin goes.
kenscott, I'd just walk in, ask them to order you a box, and see what they say. If they ask about you having an account, open one. I had PNC giving me halves and ordering me halves before I even had an account.

My problem right now is trying to get them to give me enough coin bags to get rid of all the coin I am searching, also would really like to see them process the deposits quicker, I deposited some bags of coins 2 weeks ago tomorrow and still don't show any adjustments to the account, I would think that I must be off a few cents....

YEP! that's why I say I may just switch one to just my dump bank. I was dumping at a coinstar at the CU but it takes tooooooo long to feed it all in, right now I am dumping nickels and pennies at the bank because I can get a rough count with my ryedale and still using the coinstar for halves and dimes, if I had a way to count it all I would dump it all. Right now they are giving me bags, they don't want them filled too full, if I have to buy they they will be filled to 50lbs like they are marked on the bags now. If they stop I will switch to the other bank if they will give me bags for free, otherwise where are you buying bags? and how large are the bags you are buying?

I dump in 48 pound bags, $1k in halves per bag. I buy them off some website, banksupply.com or something like that.

Yep I've seen that site, I guess if you are dumping at different banks it makes since to have your own bags, as I am just hitting the one bank it has their info on the bag, I have saw another person dumping quarters from newspaper racks that's why I asked if I could do the same and they said sure, so I have picked up a bunch from them, the last week was the first time that I have picked up and dumped from the same bank in the same week.

@ Yvairguy I think banks will get cranky if you are picking up and dumping same place .. that may be the fastest way to get cut off .. you should have only pickup banks and only dump banks if possible

Yep I understand, I may start keeping my dumps and running them south, I know there are other CRH down there but I am seeing their marked coin so I guess they can see some of mine.

That is exactly what I would do as well get em out of your area then you are more likely to not get your coins back .. I live on an island so I cant do that lol I think there is a very limited amount of coins here and once they are gone through I will have to do some fancy footwork to get my bank to order from the mainland
