Ive had tellers tell me too that any silver that comes in there is there's, and they don't care who or what tells them otherwise. I guess its more of a morality issue than a SOP (stand. op. proced.).

Well in any case, great haul FTB! I'm still waiting for a monster box! I pulled a '67 from a tellers tray from a bank around where I had a job interview. In hindsight, if I don't get the job, at least I got some silver!! Will be back next week. Until then...

I did 12 boxes this week, and I got 6 garda= skunky
6 brinks = (6) 40%, and (1) 1942 walker

18-20 boxes this week for me, good luck to everyone.

Reminds me FTB of many times I've asked for silver that was in plain view in their tray.. asked for it, and was given clad from under the table... I should of made a scene... I wonder though, tellers tell me that why save silver for their husband's.. etc, but how do they do it if they can't take it from the tray? Or do they and just pocket it as soon as it comes in...

I think a bit of research might be in order for the banks one visits and ask for half dollars (or other silver coins). I strongly feel that if one has an account with the bank, one should be entitled to any available silver a teller has in open funds.

I also agree that if a teller is going to buy the silver, they should buy it immediately. Maybe they are not allowed to during regular business hours but are free to after the doors close. Not sure on this.

Also, I am a bit tired of the "us versus you" mentality when you sometimes ask for halves. They are there to be service to customers and possibly the public. If they have halves they should sell them. If they do not they should say so, and if they cannot deal with non-customers it should be clear from the start. The attitude that we are "taking" something is a bit annoying to me.

Heck, the truth is they received the silver at face value and they should let it go at face value to the customers.

Just curious about the ages we have represented her for half searching. Personally, I am 45. Am I the old man here in the group?

53yrs here Ken - dropped off a bag for deposit, gave a helpful teller a $10 gift card from Dr Insomnia's coffee & tea, all 5 of the banks on my Saturday rounds were low on halves today, but did pick up 5 CWR & a box of pennies. Found a '67 40%'er and, again, many 1999-D & 2001-D that look as if they were just made.
