It is for these reasons that I avoid ebay like the plague.

yep for the most part they ruined ebay about 10 years ago. but if you can still make some profit they still do attract buyers

It's getting hard and harder to make a profit...between the charges from ebay and Paypal. You really have to have a good margin just to pay those guys

I do most of my selling locally or on the BST on the PCGS forums. I don't sell much, though.
6 boxes, 3 40%, 1 '64. TONS of '94-P's, all BU.

I read that someone here used Rare Jade Coins. It is one of the advertisers on this page, and they said they had good results with them.
I checked them out and see they also buy scrap silver and gold. I need to call them and see what their payout percentage is. As a general rule, if a company will not tell me their percentage-of-spot payout then I simply avoid them like the plague.

Picked up my boxes today and the head teller told me that this will be my last order. She said the branch manager told her that it costs too much to ship those 4 extra boxes....

the way I understand it is they are aloud so many boxes of coins, over that amount they have to pay extra, ask them if that's the case and if you can order but keep it under the amount where they have to pay extra

I used to use ebay, but stopped. I use craigslist now almost entirely. I have found several guys that will buy whatever it is I want to unload (copper pennies, buffalos, silver, old Jeffersons, foreign coins) and then I make my rounds on those handful of people. If I get a sketchy vibe from them, I don't do business with them again. I have been lucky so far and found some really good stand-up guys and I cut out paying someone else ( ebay) the 10%. I know some people get sketched out by meeting others, and I understand that, but just be smart and careful about it and all should be good. your first sale or two to a person should not be a large amount - that way you can check them out and get a feeling for them.

4 boxes this week. Box 25: 1 '64, 1 40%. Box 26,27 1 40% each. Box 28 2 40%. Two of the boxes had been dropped and were taped. One of those boxes was short one roll.

3 boxes yesterday. Again, no silver. I'm at $5k (=10 boxes)without a single piece of silver.
Dear God, please don't send me on another huge silver slump. Please let this mini-slump end soon and if it be thy will, may the end be fashioned in the likeness of Monk's silver slump ending Barber box. Amen

The reason ebay started charging a fee on the shipping also was because people were starting auction's at $.01 and charging high shipping so if the auction closed at 1 cent ebay did not make any money on the transaction. But the seller made money on the shipping. (a loophole that ebay did not like).

Only 4 boxes today thanks to an absent teller (-4 boxes, will get on Friday) and 2 banks that forgot to order (-6 boxes right there).
Still had my best day in a while, 5 90%, with 3 walkers, 1 ben, 1 '64, and 8 40%. Was nice to finally see some silver again. There was also 20 proofs, 2 '87-D, and an olympic basketball clad commem half.
