I actually scored dumping today.

I went to a branch of my new bank and they have one of those coin star type machines. Usually the tellers just haul it all in the bank room and throw it in the machine but this time I got to play with the machine. As I was dumping the change in (it was actually pretty cool as the coins are fed up a conveyor belt) and as I was dumping I saw in my bag a yellow coin. I pulled it out and it was another sticker coin I must have missed since it was stickered on the reverse to add to my reject collection.

Bish,
We spoke by email about a week ago. I'm not willing to part with them for face value. If something's changed, message me. I have over 600 2003 through 2012 halves I'd love to part with.

I also have some NIFCs I am holding for the time being along with some nice proofs.

Hopefully going to have a box or two here this afternoon. About to go by and see if they are there.
If they are like the first three, should be at least a few silver and possibly an error or two.

Picked up 40 customer wrapped rolls yesterday. Ended up getting 15 40% silvers all in one roll. The other rolls were all the same year (like a roll of 1971/72/3/74). Not the greatest condition though. I was hoping there would be rolls of pre 70s but no luck. I was very happy getting the 15 40%s.

As soon as I have$1,000 to temporarily allocate toward some half dollar boxes, I'll order some. This is making me want to have a garage sale or something so I can get some more boxes to search!

I've been searching various banks in my area for halves, but most have none or just a few. One bank had only one on hand, which happened to be a beautiful '87-P hole-filler. So now I'm down to just 3 holes in my kennedy albums.

I also went back to the bank that I scored the 72 40% halves out of $270 face last week. This time they only had $170. I got excited when I saw a '68 ender, but I only found one other one besides that one in all 17 rolls. I did get a bank to order a box for me, but they won't be in until next Thursday so I guess I'll just have to keep searching various bank for CWR until then.

@chuckster...what's the double dies go for approximately? The thing is, I never really check for them...I just check dates. I'm wondering if I should start paying more attention?

Depends on the grade.

*Cherrypickers Guide, 5th Edition, Vol 2 Pg 320.

They have these prices for this specific DDO at $140.00 in MS63, $165.00 in MS65, $225.00 in MS66 and $450.00 in MS 67.

Chances of finding one in these high grades are probably slim to none!

It's definitely a double digit priced DDO, again depending on grade etc.

Good luck in your hunting. It's worth the time and effort to search for varieties/errors etc. You paid for the coins, might as well enjoy looking for everything besides the silver!

I never look at anything but the date (for composition) but hey, if it's worth my time, I can scrutinize a little more.

Thanks...it looks like it's definitely worth it. Even at the lowest amount for the error, it would take finding a lot of silver for that!

i get lazy and don't check them like I should, I do check all the coins that look to be in good quality/condition but that's about it.

@Chuckster,

Great finds on the doubled dies. I have searched and never found a doubled die to date.

For those who do not, I would recommend doing so if you have the time. Personally, I would recommend
a good grade 10x or better magnifying glass to aid. Personally, I use a Bausch & Lomb 10x and a Gemoro
jeweler's loupe.
