JFK Half Dollar Roll Hunters: Silver, Proofs And Other Finds

2 boxes of halves. No silver, a few NIFC, and another stickered coin for a credit union 100 miles away that someone tried to peel it off (I already have 3 from them in my reject collection)

In a box of nickels I found highly lustrous 1970D and 1970S. I hope the matching 1970D half from this mint set that got cut up ends up in one of my next boxes.

Got shorted approximately $250-$300 dumping today. While I don't count my stuff ahead of time I use a container that holds ~$300 and I throw in another 6 or 7 rolls each ziplock bag. I had 4 bags to dump. The teller asked me how much I thought I had when he was almost done. I told him $1450. He said it wasn't that much. He brought the handwritten slip out and had $1102 written on it. I told him no way was that right. He went back behind the wall to the machine and then came back and said $1132. They hide the machine behind a wall so I can't see how many times they change the bag and when to get an estimate of how much there is. The teller said he went and looked in all of the bags to make sure that they weren't feeding into the wrong denomination causing the shortage. HE said they would have to balance the machine but if it counts wrong I don't know how they are going to come up with the right number running the same coins through a broken machine.

Ooftah. I got all bent out of shape whent he machine shorted me $.90 the other day.
I dont know what I would do if I lost that much.

happened to me once in a TD and they found the overage and I received my money back

@northtexas55693: I had a couple of boxes last week with those black T's on them as well. It seemed like most of those marks were on bicentennials. I wonder how big of an area this guy has covered because I am in San Antonio. I did find a few 40% halves in those boxes though.

Complete skunk. No silver, no NIFC, no errors, no proofs, not even a jacked up half for my reject collection.

At least I found an extra $360 in my account so I guess the bank admits they messed up counting my $1500 dump on Tuesday claiming it was only $1130.

I'm here in Fort Worth and get a lot of halves with the "T"
mark.
Also I have gotten 4 solid boxes so far of 1993D I sold several rolls on ebay, bought some gold with 1 box and dumped the rest. That is why you see so many here in north Texas.

How much were you selling those 1993-D rolls on ebay for? Looks like $23-25 is the going rate. With shipping costs it looks like the profit is less than $1...?
