The federal reserve bank has a very large contract with Loomis to roll coins so that does not surprise me.
No matter which bank I go to almost always I get Loomis rolls.

Went to a dozen banks today trying to find halves. Found a couple here and there, and then one that had seven rolls. Called it a day there. Out of $86.50 in halves, I found one 2007-D, no silver or other NIFC.

I did find one bank that simply refused to even check if they had half dollars (let alone sell any) without an account. Given that they seemed unsure if they had any at all at that point, I'm just writing them off as somewhere to never visit again.

I've had the same thing happen a bunch of times. No surprise. Ask at a few hundred banks and a few will be like that. Go find 10 that will and hit it! Good luck

Not a bad week last week!

Bank 1: one box=5 40s with a nice '68 toner.
Bank 2: two boxes=several 40s and a '64! haven't gotten
one of those in a while.

Got a 2013D dime in change from the bank to fill the hole in my album.

Went through 7 boxes of halves:

Some NIFC, 1 with the core bubbled up from a fire, 1 mulched up half, one graffiti that is engraved with one of those vibrating electric engravers reading "lepro manuel", 1 magic markered Tom Cat, a minty 1963 Franklin, 2 1964's, and a 40%er. I was waiting for the rest of the set of Franklins to pop out of the box but no more showed up. Hopefully they are in the next box waiting for me.

Eight rolls today. One 69-D, 3 NIFC - 2006-D, 2011-P, 2012-P.

Edited because whoops. Definitely a 40%, not a Franklin. Wish it had been, though.

Another 8 rolls today, three 40% - 1968-D, 1968-D, 1969-D. I'm liking this bank I've found.

Ten more rolls this afternoon - 7 NIFC: 2005-D, 2006-P, 2011-P x2, 2011-D x2, 2012-P. All a little bit baggy, but otherwise BU condition.

Just thought I would drop an update on my last two boxes:

Silver -- None

2004-D
1972-D NO FG !!
2008-P
2003-P
2001-D
2004-P

Also, found a 1992-D with a very strong, distinctive hairline feature. Where the
hair parts, it is extremely deep and well-defined. It immediately caught my eye. I
will need to do further research on this one.

Just a note, I think this now makes 8 straight boxes over multiple weeks with no
silver. I am pretty much thinking they are scanning for silver or they are locally
re-rolling other dumps. I have been seeing a very large proportion of marked coins.

kenscott, I'm running into the same problem. I would guess that about 80% of my last boxes were marked in some sort of way. Mostly edge marked.

I have given up on halves in this area for a while. I'll let whom ever is searching in my area get tired of searching their own dumps and move on before I start again.

I thinking about talking to a buddy that lives a couple hours from me to see if he can get them through his business bank.

2012-P in my ten rolls searched today. Got asked by the source bank if I wouldn't mind dialing down my searches, since they can't afford to be giving me so much so often if I'm not a customer. I asked them if every other week or so worked and they said that would be better.

No problem to me.

Murphy,

I have considered doing something similar. Seeing how I live about 30 minutes from the Tennessee state line, I have considered going over to the Erwin-Johnson City area of Tennessee and checking out a few of their banks.

Heck, if I had enough finds, I could easily open an account with one of them.
