Ya I saw the slight mad. Just wondering mostly about the altered surfaces? Heat, chemical etc.. if u think its normal what's up with the color? Thanks

This is the Mints latest system of making our coins different. One side one way and the other side different in color.

As Fuzzy suggested, application of heat can cause artificial toning. I may try it at lunch with a torch and a beat-up Zincoln that's sitting on my desk.

Good chance somewun used a propane torch on it ... I've done this ... wun penny got hot and started melting, bubbling up like plastic? Dose anywun no if some pennys have plastic in them ..

@vvanme... first you may not know this but technically there is NO "penny" in US coins, that is the UK. We have the "cent". Second, there is NO plastic of any kind is in any US coinage that I am aware.
