More than 800 schools participated in $1 million fund raising drive called the "penny harvest" (I remember my daughter taking in pennies for her school) Anyway these cents will be shown in Rockefeller Center. The exhibit — 30 feet by 165 feet, as long as a city block — is the culmination of the nonprofit organization Common Cents' 17th annual Penny Harvest. The national educational program is designed to teach children about their contributions to society. Hundreds of thousands of city students from more than 800 schools spent the weeks between Oct. 22 and Thanksgiving going door to door and collecting the pennies, which will be donated to organizations of their choice for causes such as protecting the environment and helping the elderly. The exhibit was designed by architect James Polshek and will be on display in Rockefeller Center, near the famous Christmas tree, through the end of the year. It also says there are some quarters, nickels and dimes mixed in with the cents as well

Since this 100 million cents is in NY, and there was a story maybe two years ago (?) about a collector releasing a 1909S VDB into circulation in the NYC area, I'm willing to bet the 09S VDB is in that 100 million hoard. I sure would like to search for it, but how long do you think it would take to search through 100 million cents?

If you could look at 1 per second, for 16 hours a day, without any vacations or holidays or weekend time off
(1 sec/cent) * 100,000,000 cent / (3600 sec/hr * 16 hr/day * 365 day/year) = 4.75 years
