I'm not sure but it appears that the area where the rest of the I should be is unaffected, so maybe it's a grease-filled die.

Looking closer now, looks like that might be it but I wasnt, and I'mnot, sure what it is.

I can see a scuff mark on the 9, but the I looks clean. Maybe grease?

Let me put on my sunglasses, ..... No, can't see anything. Too much glare for even with my sunglasses.
Try to lower the lighting or to put a diffuser between the lighting and the coin.

Ok, it cannot be a die crack, as it is not raised. It must be a scratch on the coin indeed. The "I" still bothers me, It stops so abruptly on the top. Is that typical from grease?
