Dear fellow collectors,

I just won an auction today :) However, I'm having my doubts about the second bidder who was also bidding on the item.

Link to the listing: http://www.benl.ebay.be/itm/BELGIUM...251916464087

The second bidder has a feedback of 3. He hadn't bid on anything in the last 30 days except for this item. And his bid was placed 3 hours before the listing ended. So I'm a bit suspicious. Is there a possibility that this is a case of shill bidding? If so what actions can I take?

Seems unlikely to me that this was a shill bid. He put his bid in before yours; typically, a shill bidder would drive up another bidder's bid AFTER they bid, not as the initial bid on the auction. You were ultimately the one who set the price of the auction with your final bid.

Yes, I saw that the coin was cleaned. But the price is still bellow the market value even if it's cleaned.
The seller knew that I was interesed in the coin because I contacted him a few hours before the second bidder placed his bid.

I'd say not a shill bid, and if the coin is still below market value, then you got a good deal. In my experience shill bidding drives the price way up to at or above normal value. I say you did well.

Ok thank you for helping me out on this one. Nevertheless, I'm still happy with the coin.
