In my last two metal detecting trips I've dug up two toy guns. Both of them were found back in the woods in local parks. I guess a lot of little boys were out there playing cops and robbers. Funny thing is, I'd never found a toy gun until these two.

Maybe you could next find toy bullets or loaded cartridges, loaded with toy black powder!

If you find real guns should you turn them into the police when found in public areas?

Bertensgrad, yes, you should make them known to the police. I suspect that if they are not needed for a pending
criminal investigation, they would come back to you, but that might vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
