Thanks cJohn! After researching what electrotypes look like I think you nailed it. I guess it IS 2x2 worthy. Do tpgs slab them yet?.. And how far can the + in your estimate go?

If I was you I would submit them both as a pair lot to Stacks Bowers for the next C4 Auction in November 2015. You may have to throw in some other coins to meet a minimum consignment level? I can see the lead interior and the old edge on this piece. Send the images to Vicken and tell him John Lorenzo referred this group to you for the next C4 auction. Who me derisive? LOL.
I guess since that Newman NH piece sold ... these 20thC cast are OK to auction ... a good pedigree is EVERYTHING today ... LOL.

There's a parallel in Morgan dollars - the Micro O counterfeits. They have a bespoke group of fans, and although acknowledged as contemporary fakes they're collectable. And you can find them in TPG slabs because they weren't unmasked until about 10 years ago.
