The obverse striking is a giveaway.

Anyways, I was just going along looking for these 14D's that have sold, seeing what the average price for a VF-XF one is, and found this lot.

The 1909 S appears genuine, the 14 D is not so much.

Giving it another look, they both look cast. Notice the weakness in the letterings on the reverse, the S mint mark on the obverse.

Before reading your second post, that is exactly I was thinking when I pulled it up. It's not as obvious on the 1909 S, but the pitting on the 14 D looking very characteristic of a cast. It was also obvious that the details on the obverse were much weaker than the reverse. Despite the fact that I know very little about identifying fake key date coins (and I've never attempted to buy one at that), I can tell very well they can't be real.

When "Agios Dometios, Nicosia" is in the Item Location savvy buyers look elsewhere.

People are getting dumber and dumber.

Uh, no returns. That alone would have made me run.

Looks like the last 2 bidders had little or no bid history in last 30 days, just guessing someone may have won their own item. But I agree, bad looking coin, not one to bid on.

From Cyprus?

I'm hoping the last couple of bidders were knowledgeable folks sacrificing an NPB strike to keep the coins from going to someone about to throw their money away. I know a few who do that. We're having to play dirty these days, too.

Do people from this site ever report this stuff to ebay? The supposed buyer gave positive feedback.

The seller's current items are all from Cypress.

I report this kind of garbage, usually most of it gets taken down but some of it gets past.
